Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is defending a campaign mailer that Iowa's secretary of state says misrepresents election law.
The mailer bills itself as a "voting violation" notice and tells the recipient it's been sent due to "low expected voter turnout in your area." It then grades the recipient's voting history and that of several neighbors, citing public records.
Cruz told reporters in Sioux City, Iowa, on Saturday that the mailing is "routine."
He says he won't apologize

No, no, no. Lots of people here are certain that this is the END for Cruz this time. But for some reason they have been disparaging Cruz for a while even though they have unusually recent sign up dates with Free Republic more often than not.
Strange how many of these Cruz-a-phobes have come out of the wood work in the past few months even though their conservative posts over the past few years are basically non-existent. I have been coming to this site for many years and frequently see the same names over and over posting conservative opinions. Now I am seeing lots of new names. Some recently joined. Others within the last few years but often just about the time of the last presidential election.
The names I have seen posting consistently conservative comments over the years also seem to predominantly for Cruz. There seems to be a lot of manipulation going on here.
I see a lot of anti-Cruz types filling up the first pages of threads either stating evil Cruz is, how unlikeable he is, how unelectable he is, or how he has made a recent fatal blunder.
Yet Cruz is still the most conservative candidate. And most proven conservatives on this forum seem to have always preferred Cruz over any other candidate.
I like the emails I get from Trump better ;)
It is well to remember that we are all one drunken post away from the same fate.

Agree with everything you said! Just one point to mention. It’s been conclusively proven that Rafael Sr couldn’t have fought with Castro against Batista. Rafael left Cuba before the fighting got started.
This tendency to lie/play loose with the facts, particularly for self glorification, is very strong in alcoholics. Whether it persists after a person sobers up would, I’m guessing, depend almost entirely on the reasons and means of recovery. Many recovering alcoholics simply substitute one addiction for another, so not much fundamental healing occurs.
I pray blessings on all the Cruzes. It couldn’t have been easy on any of them. But this tendency to embellish/rewrite history bears watching. It’s definitely in the mix.

And Cruz is scaring old ladies and other vulnerable types. Sad as hell.

Iowa is an evangelical state, and Cruz is running as the most conservative, honest, trustworthy, upright man ever, trying to appeal to the evangelical voters.
This contradicts all that.

What this shows is Cruz’s singularly poor judgment about the most important decision he has had to make in this campaign. Cruz had to win Iowa. Instead he committed an inappropriate act with the family dog.
Postal stamp says ‘Feb 1’ - which hasn’t happened yet. So that is a fake stamp.
True. I get the same. He tells us his upcoming schedule and briefly a summary of what’s going on. He is very informative. I gave 50 to the Vets in Iowa and he sent a nice thank you.
