thank you.
I agree, I am much more focused on figuring out who I can trust in my ‘holler’ (just moved to the Appalachian Mountains) - going Galt and preparing for civil unrest.
I really don’t think anybody we elect can change course fast enough, since Congress likes the status quo. $19T is unsustainable. Even if nothing happens, I’m happy to not be supporting this fascist government and living a simple life close to God’s creations.
So yes, in the big picture, the tiffs here are irrelevant.
Have yourself a great evening, FRiend!
Right back atcha, Slyfox!
Very well said Jim.
I would ask supporters of both candidates to put their money where their mouth is. Maybe we can raise enough money to finish off this FReepathon by the weekend. As they say in Yiddish, “Tochus affen tasch!” (Literally, “Put your a$$ on the table.”)

I’m in. Big time.
For what it's worth, I don't think we're nearly as divided as we were eight years ago when many FReepers were pushing Rudy.
I think it is unrealistic to support both Trump and Cruz equally when Cruz has not settled the birth issue. I’m just sayin. Do we really need the dems going after him on this if Cruz gets the nomination? I’m all in for Trump!
Exactly - I LOVE Cruz, but don't hate Trump and will vote for the R nominee happily. What I won't do is criticize either of the men OR their followers. Why is that so hard for people to do? Conservatives of good will can have valid disagreements, but we're still rooting for the same side.
I’m just seeing this today.
Read & noted. God Bless you, Sir! We can hope.
Thank you, kiryandil, for posting the link innnn. . . I forget which thread
Words of wisdom from the Boss ping
Don’t ever ping me again.
That’s a keeper. Thank you Jim.
Thank you for this post. I was feeling pretty low about the state of discourse here and yet somehow I missed this. Today I was told some Cruz supporters basically flipped you off. Haven’t seen evidence but that is so sad.
I was definitely feeling from a lot of threads and comments that the FReeper on FReeper macro aggression was coming more from Cruz supporters than Trump. Most of us ready to vote for Trump have spent careful time explaining why. Most of us really like Cruz. I sent him $ before Donald announced.
On this thread, one excellent point is that the Cruz supporters, with venom to their opponents, will not convince a single one of them, so there is no actual point to any hostility.
It is difficult to allow people who feel differently their opinions, but we need to. I hope Cruz supporters will continue to explain why they don’t trust Trump and how they think there is any chance for Cruz to win. I listen and think about those kinds of arguments. I will continue to explain my opinion that we aren’t in a 20th century election season where we all go for the most conservative candidate no matter what. Why the only man to expose the media had to be a very wealthy man who was blackmail proof, who had his children and grandchildren independently protected. Let’s all discuss these issues and hoped for outcomes.
You are offended by a ping to an article by JimRob, after I’ve been pinging you for many years on many topics?
Okay! Farewell, and blessings to you.
Oh please!
Excellent post, Yaelle!
And I would actually be excited about Rubio as a VP candidate for Trump if he gives Trump a better shot at winning the nomination. I have a lot of (legal) Hispanics working for me. They don't pay a lot of attention to our politics. They don't read our news or watch our news channels. I get the sense from what I read on FR that people here are not aware of just how much they despise Donald Trump. They only know what they have been told: That Donald Trump is a racist, who hates them and wants to deport them. All of them.
I expect that to change to some extent when the race is narrowed down to two candidates -most likely Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Trump. The values that you speak of are a lot closer to the ones shared by the legal Hispanic community in this country than are Mrs. Clinton's. However, if the election were held tomorrow, I believe that they would show up en masse to vote against Mr. Trump.
I have pinged hundreds of Trump supporters to this thread. The list at the top of each post is always just the first few names, followed by an ellipsis (three dots) that indicates that there is more text, but it is not shown.
“Either way, we win, they lose.”
