Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump: Ted is the ultimate hypocrite.

Ted is the ultimate hypocrite. Says one thing for money, does another for votes.

http://mobile.nytimes.com/2015/04/24/us/politics/at-new-york-reception-ted-cruz-is-said-to-strike-different-tone-toward-gays.html?referer=

Senator Ted Cruz has positioned himself as a strong opponent of same-sex marriage, urging pastors nationwide to preach in support of marriage as an institution between a man and a woman, which he said was “ordained by God."

But on Monday night, at a reception for him at the Manhattan apartment of two prominent gay hoteliers, the Texas senator and Republican presidential hopeful struck quite a different tone.

During the gathering, according to two people present, Mr. Cruz said he would not love his daughters any differently if one of them was gay. He did not mention his opposition to same-sex marriage, saying only that marriage is an issue that should be left to the states.

The dinner and “fireside chat” for about a dozen people with Mr. Cruz and his wife, Heidi, was at the Central Park South penthouse of Mati Weiderpass and Ian Reisner, longtime business partners who were once a couple and who have been pioneers in the gay hospitality industry.

Although it disappoints me that the war we all knew would come, has indeed arrived. This is what will separate the wheat from the chaff. No one should win the primary without going through the fire of a real fight.

Cruz is in the weaker position as he has avoided the fight for the past 6 months and left all of this stuff exposed to be hit by Trump or whomever at a time like this, when it will have maximum damage. Cruz doesn’t have the ability to really have an impact outside of these debate/forums or on friendly talk radio shows, and things like this will leave him paralyzed because I think he is surrounded by too many yes men and people telling him he’s the smartest and greatest person to ever run for office. I think he believes his own hype and was not prepared for the level of hurt Trump can bring down. So now he is starting to sink.

If he is to start going down, it’s better for it to happen now than in September.

“Just gotta laugh “

Laugh all you want. This is how political war looks.

Not this “take the high road” garbage that the right thinks wins elections.

Politics is nasty business, always has been, always will be.

Show me a person who takes the “high road”, and you’re showing me a loser.

For Ted to be President, he’s got to prove he’s not a phony. And there is stuff in Ted’s background that gives pause.

I’m glad Trump is testing him like this. Let’s see who does best in these exchanges and see where the chips fall.

“There is no hypocracy in Cruz raising money from anyone who will support him. “

Yeah, somehow if Trump was raising money from these guys, I’d doubt that the Cruz side would be like “Meh, whatever”.

It’s a legit shot. One that Cruz should have already prepared for. Why they aren’t is just irresponsible.

Let’s not forget less than a year ago D J Trump also blamed ALL “right wing extremist haters”, including his supports here, that thought it was OK to draw a cartoon of mad mo thus provoking the muslims into an attempted mass murder of Pam Geller and co.

“Show me a person who takes the “high road”, and you’re showing me a loser.”

When Cruz said that Bill Clinton would not be an issue for him, that was a big red flag. Then I knew that he would have no issue pulling punches.

I don’t mind Trump taking the shot. I just don’t see anything too it. That Cruz met with people that I would not expect to support him does not bother me in the slightest. He didn’t change his views to win their support and that is what I care about.

Oh yeah

I remember this one. This was so terrible. Ted actually had the AUDACITY to socialize with gay people and treat them kindly.

He had the NERVE, apparently, to say if one of his daughters wound up gay, he wouldn’t ostracize her from his life.

As I recall, in fact, it was the two gay men who hosted this who caused a firestorm for themselves from the gay community, who looked at them as traitors and promised never to patronize their properties again.

Cruz defended them from their own “people”.

And looking at the article, as I also remembered, it was not a fundraiser. So it’s a stretch to say Ted was “begging” for anyone’s money.

Also in the article:

Mr. Reisner said he and Mr. Weiderpass jointly own the duplex apartment where the event was held. He said that a third host, Sam Domb — another partner in their business who used to work with Rudolph W. Giuliani, a Republican and a former mayor of New York — was also a property owner there.

The three men are strong supporters of Israel, as is Mr. Cruz. Mr. Reisner, who said members of his family perished in the Holocaust, said Mr. Cruz’s foreign policy views were part of the appeal for people like Mr. Domb.

Gee, it couldn’t have been a mutal support of Israel type of thing, could it?

NO, it HAD to be that Cruz was “sucking up” to gays for money.

In all of this JUVENILE “stuff”, Trump and Trump supporters don’t seem to even realize he resides in the pretty much the largest glass house of anyone running.

Yeah, he’s not funded by the Goldman Sachs of the world. That’s his “safe spot.”

But every time he opens his mouth to criticize someone, he’s leaving a wide opening in a different way on usually the exact same subject.

“Not a lot of evangelicals come out of Cuba”?

How many evangelicals say they never ask God for forgiveness Donald?

“Ted isn’t as strong on marriage values and same sex marriage as he wants to let on.”

“How strong have your marriages been, what was your stance on Kim Davis, the Supreme Court’s ruling on SSM, and why the fascination with “Caitlyn” Jenner as a judge for your pageant, Donald?”

Admittedly, the last part is mostly a turnoff for pure and strong social conservatives, like me. And even with that, I don’t particularly care that he’s been married 3 times.

But when you’re all mouth, all ego, and yeah you do love the country, apparently you become completely unaware that all 4 walls around you are nothing but glass.

“says the man who admittedly bribed public officials for pure greed. He could have been an honest businessman.”

Find me one successful Billionaire who doesn’t make contributions. Calling it ‘bribes’ is your dishonesty. If he only gave to liberals, you might have a point.

Now, here is Ted, campaigning on YOUR tax $$$, but that is ok? And the people who give ‘BRIBES’ to him....he’s in great company.

GOVERMENT LAWYER, that’s all Ted has ever been. He is one of 4 BIG recipients running for president on Lawyer donations who give 70% to democrats

Hillary, got over 7 million, Jeb Bush over 1 million, Cruz $644,000, Rubio $576,000. They take care of their own first!!
https://www.opensecrets.org/industries/recips.php?cycle=2016&ind=K01

And there’s GOLDMAN SACHS who just got fined for being corrupt when some of them should have gone to jail. They give Ted plenty in,as YOU say, ‘BRIBES’. They hire ILLEGAL ALIENS and meet with Obama to form his special AMNESTY.

Need links? This is stuff you should know.

Goldman Sachs is the new ROSE LAW FIRM.

1999?

Ted Cruz can’t remember that he’s a Canadian Citizen! Or who he just borrowed $$ from. He’s way too young to be senile, maybe he’s just an idiot.

The point is not that Cruz associated with gay people. It’s that they were from NY. And he took their money.

The same ‘value’ that he criticized at the debate.

And not just between Trump and Cruz. Judging by the comments it’s among freepers too.

I’m liking Donald a lot less because of these ultra nasty attacks on Cruz. Cruz is a good man. Donald is looking a little deranged here. Not good.

Trump desperately wants to make this New York Values debate about anything other than his long record of public support for liberal values, which he himself explicitly identified as being different from Iowa values.

Trump knows being painted as a New York Republican is potential doom with many primary voters. So first he misdirects with the manifestly phony attempt to paint it as an attack on 9-11 first responders and, laughably, all New Yorkers. And now this.

I'm supposed to believe that it's hypocritical for Cruz to meet with New York Republicans or gasp, raise money from them because, what, Cruz criticized New York liberalism?

“Guess where the headquarters of Goldman-Sachs is located?”

Duh, Terra Haute?

GS happens to be headquartered in NY, but the location is irrelevant! The Cruz GS loan was a margin loan from their personal GS brokerage account that was paid back in full. Ted and his wife borrowed from their own resources! This was not a campaign contribution by the GS CEO to the Elect Cruz US Senate campaign!

Now, how many corrupt NY pols has billionaire real estate tycoon, ‘The Donald’, bribed with campaign contributions over his many years living and doing business in NY (or around the world for that matter)...any kickbacks for favorable legislation, local zoning rules, gambling? For example, it is known that he tried to secure gambling rights in Florida with campaign contributions to local pols including Jeb Bush...this seems like the sort of NY value that Ted Cruz is talking about!

This was published in April, 2015 but that doesn’t take away from the info contained.

Here is a link to the NY Times article from that date which includes a photo of Senator
Ted Cruz with Mati Weiderpass one of the co-host of the fundraiser.

Heck New York money and residents apparently aren’t that bad after all.

Rafael sleeps with an employee of Goldman Sachs, on unpaid leave, every night who made 500,000 dollars as an advisor with connections. He runs with a fast well-heeled sophisticated crowd in Houston and other parts of TX. He’s not anything he portrays to the working class folks in Iowa. He’s Elmer Gantry hoodwinking honest hard working folks who know what it is to work and make a dollar. He’s toast.

“Cruz is married to a Goldman-Sachs executive. Guess where the headquarters of Goldman-Sachs is located? Cruz got a loan from Goldman-Sachs and it is one of his biggest contributors.”

See post #30. According to the Cruz supporters here, it is now okay to call campaign contributions ‘BRIBES’.

Goldman Sachs is the new Rose Law Firm.

Springwater, Ted is going down. Everyone who attacks Trump goes down.

The Ted Cruz wiseguy apology to the people of New York is a disgrace. Remember, his wife’s employer, and his lender, is located there!
