Donald Trump took his front-running campaign for the Republican presidential nomination to Pensacola, Fla., on Wednesday night. And, holy cow, did people come out in droves to see him.
Here's a photo of the crowd taken by WaPo's own Jenna Johnson.
*snip*
Trump's campaign claimed it gave out 20,000 tickets; the arena holds 11,500 people. According to Jenna's reporting, there were "at least 11,000" in attendance and "several thousand more were turned away."
Large crowds are the rule, not the exception, at this point for Trump. He had 8,000 people in Lowell, Mass., earlier this month; more than 2,000 showed up in Burlington, Vt., -- not exactly a conservative enclave -- to hear Trump speak last week.
I've written a lot about crowd sizes this election and how they remain an uncertain indicator of actual support. But, Trump's ability to draw thousands and thousands of people to hear him speak this close to actual voting -- we are 19 days from the Iowa caucuses -- suggests to me that the enthusiasm and passion he has sparked among a certain segment of the GOP base isn't going anywhere any time soon.

I give you the concern troll PHD. Donald will be able to get treatment in the US. Ted's Booked into the Calgary Bible Booby Hatch. Heidi Blankfein says he only needs 2 dolla.
Yes, it would be a pity for my family. Wonder how Trump’s family feels, since I’m copying him.
That is also why we have a VP. Now go pound sand you TDS troll.
Learned to be a concern troll from Trump. Having a great time. Pound sand. That’s good stuff.
I havenât encountered a Reagan Democrat in a generation<
Well, generally speaking, they are voting Democrats out of tradition, or as one might say - a historic family loyalty. I have known some very conservative teachers that vote Democrat because, "We don't have a choice."
When you get an 'America first' Republican candidate that is strong enough to motivate a conservative loyalty-voting Democratic to vote Republican, then you have a Reagan Democrat. An establishment, globalist Republican doesn't doesn't motivate a 'fed-up' Democrat, neither does a religious, social conservative Republican.
Very good. Very funny.
I prefer Cruz but am willing to vote for Trump at this point, especially if Cruz or some other conservative is the VP nominee.
What is more funny is seeing the Trump zombies on this forum get all offended at your comment. It appears their state of hypnosis prevents them from getting the humor.
Is that you little JEBBIE?
WTH are you talking about? What 'lot of people' are 'talking about Trump's mental health? What 'fact' about his 'clear signs of mental instability' are you referring to?
I think we all 'get' that you aren't a big fan of The Donald, but c'mon now - you're a better person than to pull a hatchet out like this.
Have you been reading Scott Adams?
The media is in bed with the lefties and the UN. Doesn’t surprise really does it?
“The espoused goal of every Republican I know of is to be able to attract Dems.”
the problem is what they may have to do to attract those Dems. As I have said, I haven’t encountered a Dem who wasn’t a leftist wing-nut in a generation. The “Reagan Dems” don’t exist. they’re either Republicans, independents, or dead, or the Democrat party has made them brain-dead.
“I learned concern trolling from the best. Donald Trump. Does it all the time.”
What’s “concern trolling”? Is that like trolling with a heart?
I’ve known them, too, but, I’mm 66, and I haven’t encountered any of them in a long time.
A concern troll is a person who participates in a debate posing as an actual or potential ally who simply has some concerns they need answered before they will ally themselves with a cause. In reality they are a critic.
What Donald does almost every time he speaks.
Other than you who are the "a lot of people"?
There is no evidence to suggest Mr. Trump has anything but a very healthy personality. Hillary Clinton on the other hand has demonstrated that she lies about nearly everything.
Nikki Haley absolutely DID look bizarre! The teeth thing, but also the bug eyed white all around the edges eyes flaring like Megyn’s nostrils... Bizarre! It looked to me like she was struggling to control herself.
She as VP could be a deal killer for me.
Not so. There are plenty of blue collar voters who are still register democrats but will vote for Trump.
Even the SEIU and UAW leaders have complained that perhaps a majority of their members might vote for Trump.
“An establishment, globalist Republican doesn’t doesn’t motivate a ‘fed-up’ Democrat,” True, they make up the Bernie base. The fed-up Democrat is the OWS crowd.
“What is more funny is seeing the Trump zombies on this forum get all offended at your comment. It appears their state of hypnosis prevents them from getting the humor.”
As evidenced by one of my earlier posts, I “got the humor” - I just didn’t think it was funny, no matter how many times the Troll repeated it.
And, excuse me,but - yes, I AM offended at being called a “Trump zombie” simply because I don’t like to see my chosen candidate libeled.
Time to show some evidence or admit that you are just trolling with a BS claim. How about a link?
