Salena Zito used to post her articles to Free Republic and engage readers.

Tony Snow once took up for her here.

Sad to see someone so out of touch attack the people she once used to promote herself.

Wow, sad indeed.
The Party brought this on themselves. If the Party had tried to please it’s electorate it would all be so different.
But it’s “the peasants are revolting” instead of self-examination.

She’s gotta make a living I guess.

Editor (and establishment) agendas come first.

After seeing the past several years of real ‘mob rule’ (looting, rioting, ignoring the results of judicial proceedings, lying, protesting based on lies/victim-hood, etc.) it is ridiculous to compare the Trump phenomenon with mob rule ...

despite Republicans holding a sizeable House majority and a slim Senate majority, institutional voting rules often prevent those majorities from enacting sweeping changes.

Then how is it that the dumocrats change the rules every time they perceive a loss of their vote? She is clueless.

The DemocRats have taken over the GOP. There is no other possible reason for always giving them what they want. They hold the power of the purse yet continue to fund Obamacare and Planned parenthood.

Idiot does not realize that the mob is what they called our freedom fighters in the Revolutionary War.

Exactly. Very well-stated, kristinn.

Who does she think “represents true conservatism”?

I liked Selena's articles.
But in this case I will gladly count myself as part of the 'Mob'. Government is swallowing up this country, and it needs to be trimmed back ASAP.

That's insulting. I guess I'm part of the mob then. I would rather not feel compelled to support Trump, but bombastic and all the other adjectives they call him, he is our only hope to actually do some of what he says. He will do it if he can.

All the others are bought and paid for.

Salena Zito is now a propagandist for The Cheap Labor Express as are so many of the columnists and pundits we used to respect.

The battle lines are becoming clearer. Those on the side of the citizens and the rule of law against those on the side of the illegal aliens and their employers.

Whew, at least I am part of an unthinking mob! For a moment there, I thought she was going to call me an angry racist.

The fact that Ms. Salena doesn’t consider Occupy or #BLACKLIESMATTER to be “the mob” tells you everything you need to know about her intellectual development.

it's name is the GOP.

There a great deal of truth to her indictment of populism.

People don’t want to vote, don’t care what their elected representatives do in their name and are disengaged from public life are angry things haven’t changed.

Frustration with our institutions and our parties has been channeled into a drive to burn them down.

Populism is not conservatism. Conservatives stand for incremental change and preserving tradition, not catering to the passions of the mob and unpredictable change.

Trump is a liberal. If he should get elected, conservatives may be disappointed with his conduct in office and his espousing policies the opposite of their professed principles.

People are letting their feelings cloud their sober judgment. If conservatives want to be ruled by the darker side of their nature, that is their right.

But they should not be fooled into believing the fury of the crowd equals a dispassionate and abiding respect for conservative values.

We’re going down a road we can’t see to where it leads and we might regret where we would wind up.

I read that she is or was “a board member of the Center for Media & Public Policy at the Heritage Foundation.”

Is the Heritage Foundation now just a wing of the GOPe? I don’t know. I am just asking.

According to this babe, I and other Trump-backers are "parts of a mob-rule crowd", "GOP cultists" and "populists run-amok".

And I'll bet this is one of her more "kinder, gentler" articles.
