Marion Barry was merely born Marion Barry, Jr. He added Shepilov to his name in the late ‘50s in honor of the Soviet politician, Dmitri Shepilov.
It’s funny to note that Shepilov was strongly concerned about moral/social degradation of the youth in the Soviet Union that he denounced both jazz and rock and roll music.
