although the widespread use of it did get D’oh finally
into the dictionary?
No, D’oh began in the UK on a radio show during WWII called ITMA. ITMA stood for It’s That Man Again, in reference to Hitler. One of the radio characters, on a plan of hers being foiled, would walk away saying, “D’oh!”
