Whoa: Trump just revealed who he’d pick for VICE president…

As GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump continues to lead in most polls - in some by rather large margins - what might have once seemed like a longshot (remember back at the beginning of the summer) now increasingly is real possibility. So it's natural to start imagining who Trump might pick as his running mate, should he go all the way to receive the GOP nomination.

Today, Trump came as close as he's come yet to naming who that person might be. And I know some of you are going to be disappointed, while others of you will love it.

(H/T to The Hill via The Right Scoop:)

Donald Trump on Tuesday named Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) when asked about his possible running mate in 2016.

Tie the Liberal Press’s panties in a knot Trump/West and watch the black caucus explode. I can see the headlines already, The Billionaire and the Uncle Tom. I love Alan, I think he is the greatest, he should have been on that stage, we would have seen some real action.

BTW as an afterthought about this election, you bumper sticker people, get one of those HILLARY photos and paste “REALLY?” across it, I think it would be a winner.

It would bring no real conservatives, but many ostensible Republicans.

Trump's biggest hurdle is to get past the GOP-e. The large liberal states that have not voted Republican in Presidential elections since 1988 are either dominated by RINO politicians or have open primaries where Democrats can vote for someone like Kasich or Jeb Bush (if Jeb does not drop out sooner). Romney played to win and fiercely attacked Gingrich, his only viable rival, in the primary round. He pulled some dirty tricks in caucus states, where the local libertarians played their own little games for Ron Paul. But Romney took a dive in the general election, failing to score on the second and third debates against Obama.

Democrats have played dirty since the days of Boss Tweed in New York in the Civil War era. The 1960 Presidential election was stolen in stuffed ballot boxes in Illinois and Texas. The 1976 Presidential election was probably stolen by last minute results from three of New York City's five boroughs. Neither Nixon nor Ford chose to challenge. Trump is not Nixon, Ford, McCain, or Romney. Like him or not, he plays to win. He will challenge results from Democrat strongholds like Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Milwaukee, Madison, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Scranton, Denver, and Boulder.

I have never nor do I now question Palin’s Conservative bonafides. Perhaps as you say she would fare better if she did fight back but I think it is too late for her. Once people have formed an opinion of someone it is difficult to change. Clinton is a perfect example of this. A huge majority of people according to Quinnipiac Polling have said the three words they best feel describe Clinton are,

Liar
Dishonest
Untrustworthy

(2) Cruz has positions at serious odds with Trump,

But both Cruz and Trump are smart enough to sit down and explain the reasons for their differences to one another and reach an agreement, or not.

I am sure Cruz is on a short list with Sessions, and others. I wouldn’t mind if he selected his whole cabinate early so as to be vetted and ready on Day one—I would like his whole 100 Days all planned out—bills to give congress and changes to be made. 1. Build the Wall! 2. End Obamacare! 3. Rebuild the Navy. 4. Change to immigration laws. 5. End to illegal sanuary cities. etc...

I also believe it will never happen. In addition to the reason you give I will add (4) Cruz has coopted Trump’s positions on several things (i.e. immigration) and then claimed that he has always had this position. Also remember early in the campaign Cruz coopted Make America Great Again and had to be asked by the Trump campaign to not use that phrase.

If I were Trump this would strike me as a betrayal or extreme dishonesty and I don’t think he has a lot of tolerance for that.

It’s not that Cruz has taken these positions, that is a reasonable and logical thing to do. It is the manner in which he has taken them.

I love Ted, but I think with everything going on we need the T-n-T team. Both have very strong character and love this country.

"I would not vote for a,trump/Cruz ticket. I would vote 3rd party."

Why even waste the vote? Why not just go balls deep and vote for Hitlery or ItBerns?

Why would I do that? That would be the same as voting for trump.

That’s some serious cognitive dissonance if I’ve ever witnessed it...

Cruz will go for it. He is going nowhere fast in the Senate. Its controlled by the Establishment GOP and they hate his guts. His best move is riding shotgun with Trump into the Whitehouse or getting offered Attorney General which is a yuge job.

It’s nothing compared to the cognitive dissonance involved in voting for the liberal trump.

If he took the VP slot under trump, that would be the catastrophic end to his career.

I would find it difficult to sleep at night if I betrayed my country by voting for the liberal trump.
