I had the opportunity to meet and get to know several French soldiers. Good troops and nothing like I expected. One of them told me French history can be summed up as good people with the worst leadership imaginable.
I have often thought of that the past decade when I look at my own country. We have lost control of our own nation and this should remind us that the actions of those we elect can have fatal consequences for those we love. Thankfully we are not as far gone as Europe, but we are on the same path.
