Inbreeding is common in Islamic culture. It’s been going on since Mohammed sanctioned first-cousin marriages 1,400 years ago. I guess there’s nothing like getting marriage advice handed down from one generation to the next that originated with a lunatic pedophile.

Not only is there a lot of inbreeding, but I believe that the entire Muslim population suffers from a form of PTSD.
Imagine being raised in a household where an abusive father terrorizes the mother and daughters, who have no rights and are only seen as the father’s property. Imagine watching your sister transferred from your father’s property to her husband’s property. and being a son raised to follow his father’s ideas and behaviors.
Imagine the psychopathy of a man raised in such an environment, and then imagine that psychopathy reinforced a million-fold by every social and legal institution in the general society.

Yes, certainly inbreeding among English royalty and the noble class in England - one of the reason for all the wars in the middle ages but also, oddly, for their amazing brilliance in the arts and law. Sometimes inbreeding creates good minds. But really bad tempers!

True, but marrying other royal families to create alliances and the guys periodically marrying beautiful lower status women helped add genetic diversity.
Not sure what the point of this article is supposed to be... for 2000 years, Jewish communities around the world (especially Orthodox) have been closely interbreeding, and with a much smaller pool to start from.
