It doesn't look like the components were exposed to a high order explosion. Just impact type damage.

That may be due to either a safe/arm interlock or just typical Russian quality issues.

The PC Board does look like older technology but remember the Foxbat issue from the 1970's.

We obtained a Mig (25 - then) Foxbat from a defector and we tore it down. Many in the DoD scoffed at the outdated electronics technology until we started getting smart about EMP and RFI interference.

Suddenly we recognized their antiquated electronics would survive where our advanced microelectronice were exteremely vulnerable to catastrauphic failure in an EMP environment.

That created a whole new DoD wide emphasis on nuclear hardness that continues today.

The thing simply dropped from the sky. Amazing it flew that far. Note that Iran generally supports the Russian effort in Syria, so the cleanup was probably very quick.

Yup, it’s why many critical boards are sealed in EMP enclosures and interconnects are done with optical fiber.

That board looks pathetic!

Just look at the bundles of black jumper wires on the surface!?

That board does not compare well to even an amateur multi-layer PCB...lol

They could get boards made by dirtypcbs.com and get better results..
"Dirt Cheap Dirty Boards" :-)
BTW: I use boards from dirtypcbs..they are good and they are almost giving them away.

Maybe the Russians are still going for quantity instead of quality..like in WW2?
"Quantity has a quality all its own"

We almost certainly have GPS/GLONASS jamming and spoofing gear on board our drones..perhaps that's what befell the Russian cruise missiles?
