The issue here is airspace management and deconfliction; you can’t conduct air operations with a third party noncooperatively flying in your airspace without putting aircraft from both sides at extreme risk. This is why we don’t permit non-allied forces to operate in our AO in Afghanistan or Iraq. Putin could have asked us to be allies in this operation, but Obama clearly sides with the radical muzzies over Assad, so that is a no go. He could operate with us in his airspace, which eventually will lead to someone losing aircraft and could spark WWIII; probably not a good idea. Or he could tell us to stay our of his AO; most sensible choice given the options. What else is he supposed to do?
Who is this senior U.S. official? John Kerry, Joe Biden? I don't see any confirmation of this from any other news sources.
As a Freeper said recently: “Last century I prayed for the conversion or defeat of the godless communist. This century I pray for the conversion or defeat of American liberals!”

Obama will have them fly elsewhere.
Obama is just itching for as “international incident” In the meantime....it’s putting our boys at risk. Lousy b******.
Hey, Fighter Pilots, Don’t risk being shot down by Russians...call in sick.
If our military is as great as I think it is, they will find a way to avoid another disaster stumbled into by their utterly lacking Commander in Chief.
How I pray and wish this bumbler POS would follow Boehner out the door.
I doubt the old “Ain’t nobody in here but us chickens” reply will work with the Russians. And Obama was so much counting on it.
May God bless and watch over Israel.
BTTT
I don’t trust Putin at all, but are we sure this wasn’t just a heads-up to keep Russian and US planes from accidentally engaging each other?
Today Syria, Tomorrow Delaware....
Obama gives Putin the death stare. Putin smirks.
Don’t forget the Chinese aircraft carrier to support Russia!
When you lead from behind, you tend to get in the way.

CNN was reporting that the Russians probably would not be as concerned about collateral damage and civilians. CNN maybe did not mean to, but they implied that the Russians might have success because of that.
Their early attacks seemed to be against Assad opposition rather than ISIS/ISIL.
Well at least they said “please.”
Putin would love an “unfortunate incident” to occur that he could use to expose Obama’s weakness to the world. Putin is cunning and knows that Obama is weak and will back down. It will be an easy win for him at our expense. Its just a matter of time.
We need somebody(s) to take over telling Obama to get out of the G-d Damn way before we all get killed.
Putinista alrert, the headline does not say this, either it was changed or this is editorializing the article which is against forum policy.
I guess the admirers of the $70 billion networth former KGB agent want to project this headline.
That jackass in the White Hut is leading us directly into war. Another Democrat that can’t find his a$$ in daylight screwing and creating another war situation. And they actually want old screech in that office.
