This problem should have been dealt with a long time ago. We were told a fence would be built and it never was. We desperately need border security. However, I’m skeptical that this will go as promised.
I would say that people who may have entered illegally but are law-abiding and self-supporting should be given green cards, not citizenship. Those who are on welfare or SSI or who have a criminal history should be booted out and kept out with appropriate means—those means available now and are not properly used and, additionally, a well-patrolled wall.
