I don’t think there’s a person in this country who hasn’t had the strong suspicion that some foreigner had been talking to another about them in their native tongue, or speaking in it to avoid being understood by the locals.

My parents decided early on when my older brother had problems in school to speak only English with us, also helped them improve their language skills. The problem with many Hispanics is they refuse to learn and use English, they use their children for translators and then we pander to them and others everywhere. They have no need to assimilate because it's so easy not to.
