SACRAMENTO -- State lawmakers on Wednesday took the first steps toward raising taxes and fees on motorists and further restricting Californians' tobacco use as the Legislature convened special sessions aimed at solving the state's transportation and health care funding crises.

Members of a Senate committee tackling a huge backlog of roadway maintenance endorsed legislation that would generate $4 billion annually for repairs by increasing the gas tax 12 cents a gallon and boosting annual vehicle registration fees $35 for most cars. Fees for all-electric vehicles would go up $100.

Smaller government never occurs to these morons. Their answer to this state's woes is always to raise taxes.

Who is going to pay for all this krap when the state becomes more than 50% illegal alien?

The liberals of California are like locusts. They stay until even they can’t afford it, move to my state, and vote in the same kind of crap here.

Many of those liberals came from other states before consuming California.

Well, folks, the oil companies don’t own that one, but they’ll get the blame, sooner or later.

CA lawmakers take yet another step to urge people to leave their State!

Those leaving should try IL, PA, MA, MN, WI and OH for their new residences. ......Texas has had many years of drought, so avoid Texas.

What a monster givernment “IS”..
No wonder we have Constitution made EXPRESSLY to limit Federal Givernmnet..

What genius’s the founders were... (( THEY KNEW )..
And designed a givernment totally under control... i.e. of the people..

This Constitution has been SAVAGED for 200 hundred years..
BY LAWYERS... the exact enemy’s of good givernment..
And academic professors are not far behind.. i.e. teachers..

a few good lawyers and academics but not many..
WHAT a mess.... wonder to me WHY? socialism was not OUTLAWED long ago...

Amazing how most people I know have no idea of what a democracy is and ISN’T.. let alone a REPUBLIC...

Even some of the most intelligent people do not know.. should but don’t..

>> Texas has had many years of drought, so avoid Texas.

Texas is a godforsaken hellhole full of thorns and venomous creatures. You can put your leg — up to your knee — in the drought-cracks in our parched soil.

Heat index of 110, and that’s in the spring and fall! Worse now in August. It’s impossible to cool with humidity in the 90% range. Air conditioners last, on the average, two years before needing replacement.

Know how to make a small fortune in agriculture in Texas? Start with a big fortune.

Don’t get me started on the mosquitoes and chiggers. And that Texas hospitality is a total myth. People here become as mean as the rattlesnakes after putting up with this hard life for just a few months.

Californians, do not come here expecting a better life. Stay in California. You’ll thank me later for taking my advice.

“Fees for all-electric vehicles would go up $100.”

Wait, what? I thought they wanted to encourage everybody in Kalifornia to drive electric cars to get away from that evil oil. Now they are punishing them too?

LOL. I see what you did there. And Kaliforicators, don’t come to Florida either. We have man eating alligators and mosquitoes as big as blackbirds. And besides, the whole place is already filled with transplants from New York.

The Idaho State legislature raised gas tax by 7 cents a gallon and increased automobile registration by $25 per year.

They did this on the last day of the 2015 legislative session around midnight which gave no time for voters to comment.

The fake global warming crisis is an excuse for liberals to extort more money, but it backfired with electric cars because they don’t get to collect gas tax revenue. Gotta make it up somehow.

Got pushed for a while here in SC.

I said to a few people stuff along the lines of getting rid of useless drones, close and consolidate some those taj mahal properties, padlock others, and the like. I got funny looks and told that I didn’t care about the useless 2/3s of government employees. There is a 1/3 or so that does most of the labor. I was one of them.
