I wouldn’t live inside the perimeter if you paid me the property taxes instead of the other way around, but even in the ‘burbs I don’t answer the door at night unless I have a firearm in hand and then I don’t open it just yell “Who is it?” unless I’m expecting someone.
Same here...I NEVER answer the door after dark and during the day I ALWAYS have a side arm with me if I choose to answer the door.
This sub division has a very noticeable sign at the entry way: no solicitation. So anyone stopping by if not a neighbor has no business at my door. I care not a whit if they are not happy at getting an armed reception.
Same here... no way in hell I’d live near any city. If something is at my door at night, its probably a cow thats loose or a some other critter.
If its a person, they have some explaining of how they got through the gate, down the 1/2 mile driveway, though the cow gate, pass the ornery bull and three dogs that just love strangers.
