The Grapevine is saying he’ll vote against it to pacify his mostly Jewish voter base, but will whip votes for it and to sustain a veto if it comes to that. My cynicism about politicians is limitless, especially Schumer.

Perhaps Schumer is being duplicitous, but it’s just as possible that he senses the lame-duckiness of the Liberal Messiah and has decided that a no-vote is best for himself.

The CNN story says Schumer waited until he was sure enough Democrats supported the deal before announcing he'd vote against it.
