I had a 1968 Pontiac Catalina 428-cid/375-hp 4-Barrel V-8 in high school. When it was new, it was a great engine. But my Dad screwed up the engine and gave me the car when it was about 10 years old. It had bad valves that would ping like crazy.
I believe the car in the picture is a '68 Grand Prix.

I also drove a VW 411, if you remember those. Newer version of the Squareback. Driving through the Rockies those valves chattered like castanets.
I miss cars you could work on. I adjusted the valves on my Bug with feeler gauges. Set the dwell with a timing light. I believe it even had points and condenser, Bosch brand.
Neat little krautmobile. Only 30 mpg though. My Lucerne gets that.

WINNER! At least by checking picks on Google Images.
