In 2001 the Netherlands legalized same-sex marriage, then came Belgium in 2003, South Africa in 2006, and Argentina in 2010.
With Friday's historic Supreme Court ruling, the United States has done the same.
Given that the American Psychiatric Association classified homosexuality as a mental illness until 1973, that's quite the turnaround.
As the Pew Research Center has documented in their polling, the stance on same-sex marriage in America has undergone a radical transformation in the past 12 years.
In the words of Time reporter David Von Drehle, same-sex marriage is an "increasingly uncontroversial controversy."

Never
Pendulum swings. Liberals never see dynamics, only statics.
As long as there are freedom-loving Americans, there will be opposition to this Supreme Court decision.
if it does come true won’t be much of a country left and those that are left probably woudl’t want to live US anymore..
Deviant marrage is a vector for evil. The THRUST behind deviant marriage WILL NOT die out.
Just like meaningful opposition to abortion just faded away and ...
Very true. Evil is only growing, as Rush says, because liberalism is the most gutless choice you can make and people are damned lazy.
They may be right, as they were with segregation. Or they may be seriously mistaken, as they were with abortion (and slavery, for that matter.)
“Settling” seriously divisive issues by court fiat has at best a mixed record.
Just like the controversy over abortion has died out.
The effects of non stop brain washing and positive marketing are obvious
Eventually, the muslims will fix this mess.
But whether it’s a trend or a pendulum swing can only be determined with hindsight.
I am fed up with wacko intorerant libs and brain washed younger people telling me I hate homosexuals, want them to die, that I’m a mean and ugly person, a bigot who should be publicly flogged, blah blah blah simply because I believe marriage is male/female. There is no linkage.
Because I have a gay friend or family member doesn’t mean I have be in favor of it anymore than my being against it means I have an animus towards them.
The left, with the help of the media, has successfully linked many things which are not connected in their smear campaign against anyone that doesn’t toe their ideological line.
Where’s the chart indicating God?
Yes, but we can expect swings. They happen with regular frequency.
