Television personality and real estate mogul Donald Trump said in a recent interview that his views on gay marriage are evolving as society's opinion on the issue continues to change, but the business magnate was quick to note that he continues to support the traditional definition of marriage.
"I think really what you have is a very changing stance, and you see it changing very rapidly. If you go back 10 years ago it's very different [...] I think I'm evolving, and I think I'm a very fair person, but I have been for traditional marriage. I am for traditional marriage, I am for a marriage between a man and a woman," Trump told MSNBC's Thomas Roberts this past weekend while the two were in Moscow, Russia for the Miss Universe pageant. Trump and NBC co-own the Miss Universe pageant, and Roberts served as a host for the competition alongside R&B artist Mel B.
Roberts also asked Trump what he thought of the controversy over having the Miss Universe pageant in Russia after the country recently passed a ban on spreading "propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations among minors." The country has also received criticism from athletes planning on participating in the Winter Olympic Games this upcoming February over the ban, passed in June.
"Perhaps we should have known and we didn't, and after we signed it became quite clear," Trump told Roberts of the criticism he and NBC received when they decided to host the Miss Universe event in Russia. "We have a lot of gay people who work at Miss Universe, and we said, 'What do you think?' And they said, 'We want to go. We want to show our stuff.'"
Trump has previously said that he prefers not to discuss gay marriage. He told controversial radio talk show host Howard Stern on his Sirius XM show, "The Howard Stern Show" in February that he's against gay marriage, and also that the topic has "never been an argument that's been discussed with me very much. People know that it's not my thing one way or the other."
The host of the NBC reality show "The Apprentice" has previously expressed his conservative values, especially in the areas of business and government. Trump previously delivered the Convocation address at Liberty University, a Christian university in Virginia, back in September 2012. At the event, Trump advised the students on the importance of hard work and determination.

Just shut up Trump.
I’ve evolved too. I find it TWICE as ridiculous and absurd and as strong a display of the collapse of western civilization than I did before.
He’s not my choice for president, but he’s loud and proud about securing the border and rebuilding the economy. Having him in the debates will be a good thing.
Another Trumped up scam...
On his show Trump can be dismissive (in his own way) of Charities he doesn’t really think are worthy.
Someone piped up about Global Warming. I don’t think he thought much of that person or the charity.
But Joan Rivers played for a gay organization and she won.
Trump's not gonna' shut up. And the other candidates are going to have to give some very direct answers because of it.
Trump's popularity will be a gauge of just how fed up the US population is. My sense is that across the political, economic, and social spectrum, people are extrememly fed up with DC.
Trump, you won’t get 3 votes from the homos and you should avoid contact with the pervert panderers anyway. The best you have going for you is you are not a politician, you are not an ivy league lawyer, and you are a real leader. Make your case.
If they use that word, I do not thin’ it means what they thin’ it means.
It also is a sure indication of one’s willingness to throw morals out the window in hopes of a (liberal or RINO) political office.
He’s for traditional marriage now, but if elected he will evolve and tell you to SHUT UP and support it!
He’s also full of le’poo.
go away celebutard
I remember old man Bush slamming Reagan’s policy as “voodoo economics”. When he was selected as VEEP he immediately said “I have evolved.” I did, too. I voted for Reagan twice but never voted for the old man.
As for myself, I have never, ever been so upset over all of Washington. Right now, I am for an outsider like Carson, Carly or Trump
I don't know the answer to that. Right now, though, Rush is talking about all the money Trump has donated to Hillary, and the ways he will probably try to explain it away.
It’s interesting...I was just listening to Rush’s show, and he brought up the possibility of Trump going third party. If he does that, we get Hillary.
Many conservatives don’t realize how pro-Eminent Domain Trump is.
