>>Ill take one, thanks.
I shot a lot of 1911’s in my military days. All were worn-out crap. For years afterward, I was convinced that all 1911’s were junk until someone handed me a brand-new Norinco in 1992. It felt like a different gun. Then, I tried a new Colt Series 80 and could not believe that it was the same gun as the junk the military handed me.
I acquired a Norinco M of 1911A1 in 1992 & liked it so much I bought two more before the Clinton import ban in 1994. Each cost $250.
Replaced the grips, hammers & mainspring housings with G.I. parts. Tight & shoot like a dream. I remember issue M1911A1s as a tanker in the 1970’s; they were pretty loosey-goosie.
Any 1911 pattern is expensive these days. Must mean it’s a classic design. Nothing yet on CMP website about 1911s. That Army idiot sounds more like Charlie Schumer than any kind of officer.
Hahaha... 1911 was crew weapon for tankers, along with grease guns. I remember having to qualify with random issue from armory. The barrel rattled around in the slide. It would have been more accurate as a thrown heavy object. Somehow I qualified expert. I own a S&W M&P Compact now. Sweet.
This is my big concern. Some of these military pistols have fired so many rounds through them that they are unserviceable.
I fired one that was so worn that a single trigger pull fired two rounds, which was extremely unnerving. A ranking officer didn’t believe me, so he tried the pistol and the same thing happened. I was very glad that I was not on the receiving end of that righteous snarl directed at the armorer.
Unbelieveable. A Norinco? Gimme a break. Biggest piece of junk since Raven Arms.
Those “horrible” 1911A1s you had trouble with function perfectly and always have. Combat isn’t the pistol range, it’s muddy, dirty, wet, and nasty and the stock government .45 always worked and killed reliability.
You use pistols at knife ranges. Nobody cares if they group well at 50 yards.
I’ll bet the slide/rail fit is as sloppy as Moochelle’s thong.
heh, uh, man I’m sending it but already want that one back ...
You just could not shoot then and probably still can't.
After 5000+ rounds, my colt SS series 80 Model O still shoots like a champ. Sorry to hear of your experience.
‘Lotta slop in some of Sam’s stuff. Nice and new they’re nice, but not as nice as some variants.
Luckily, I did not have to carry one, but the ones we fired in boot camp were certainly that way.
I still have my Norinco. It now has a lot of Colt parts and operates flawlessly. It's more accurate than me!
You could take that US Army 1911 and shake it and there was so much slop it would rattle, even when the breech was “locked” if such a word is appropriate.
Try a new Inland. Made in USA.
