WW is the manand therefore a private message might be the way to goWhy wouldn't just posting Mr. Williams' columns be the way to go?
The video interview was quietly riveting, which is typical for WW. I love the columns, but this was great, and more attention-grabbing. Not as a substitute, but a good thing I wouldn't have wanted to miss.
Show biz. It's a good thing.

Yikes, where I’ve worked, if you’re on salary and you leave at 5:01 p.m. and the project’s not done, don’t bother coming in at 9 a.m. the next day, ‘cuz you’re fired.
Actually, I’m talking “generally”. Yes, what you are referring to is very much in play. Not “fired”, but “pidgeonholed”. But if the project is important enough, yes, fired.

Ive worked salaried plenty. To hell with it! Get paid to work 8:00 to 5:00 and work 7:00 to 6 or 7 or sometimes later everyday. You can keep it.
This is actually what drove me, back around 1995, to IT contracting. I worked an extra 360+ hours on an IT project and when the project successfully completed they threw me a $250 bone.
I went to contracting hourly and within six years my income LITERALLY tripled.

Why wouldn't just posting Mr. Williams' columns be the way to go?It's not an article. It's a video. Is there a way to embed a video on Free Republic without having to link it?

Is there a way to embed a video on Free Republic without having to link it? There's a way to post the link without involving a blog.
And subsequently making money from FR's traffic.

I don't like blog-posters so didn't go to the site and wasn't aware it was a video.
Sure you can post a video here: Up From the Projects
You can find the link for the Free Republic "HTML Sandbox" on the FR Homepage...scroll down a ways in the sandbox and you'll see this How To Create a Link
Pretty easy.

Thats what Im fixing to start doing as well. Contract work.
It’s kinda nice, working 41 hours (or 80) in a week and getting paid for every single one of them. It matters even more now since I’m in my 60’s and not trying to put in “free time” to climb the corporate ladder. Those days are long gone.
