Bobby Jindal calls out the business community for bowing to pressure over same-sex marriage

Gov. Bobby Jindal declared that he won't be backing down from the fight over same-sex marriage or Louisiana's controversial religious freedom bill in an opinion piece for The New York Times Thursday morning. (April 23).

Jindal said he will continue to back the legislation that some have called discriminatory, even if more businesses leaders come out against the bill. In the essay, he chastises conservative leaders in Arkansas and Indiana over bowing to pressure

"That political leaders in both states quickly cowered amid the shrieks of big business and the radical left should alarm us all," Jindal writes.

Louisiana's religious freedom bill is designed to block the government from pulling licenses, tax benefits and the like from a company because of the owner's held view of marriage.

This is in addition to Louisiana's RFRA which they already have.

I suddenly realized why big business has suddenly taken the side of the sodomites.

They are afraid.

BIG business (and “big” is the key word here) has a national presence (possibly even international), and thus must do business in areas friendly to sodomites. They also want universal policies in place that will be the same from area to area. This is especially true if most of their presence or corporate headquarters is in sodomite friendly territory.

BUT, here is the kicker. If they have to compete against SMALL businesses in an areas that dont want to do business with sodomites, then they would quickly be driven out of business in those areas.

Chic Fil A is a perfect example

It wasn't that long ago (less than 10 years ago) when you would see lines backed up to the street at the McDonalds and Chic Fil A relatively empty. Then Chic Fil A took a strong stand against sodomites.

NOW, the Chic Fil A Parking lot is full, and they have TWO lines of cars wrapped around the building nearly every hour they are open. Meanwhile the McDonalds is nearly empty.

It starts with corporate America. They are all about as pro-gay as they can be. Small business is a different story.

That is an excellent point, Tex. We don’t need to boycott the WalMarts and Apples of the world. We just need to shop closer to home.

No doubt Mr. Cathy’s position on legalized sodomy has had an impact. People with deep religious convictions resent being told they must find perversion acceptable. In a small way patronizing a business that embodies the same values and beliefs as you is a good slap in a face to the tyrants who try to force their will on you.

All that plus CFA has rather decent fast food and the staff at their restaurants treat customers like family. They also don’t mess up your order.

That’s why I get Rx at a hometown pharmacy (if you can find one) and NOT at CVS or RiteAid or any national chain.

Same here. My local pharmacist is as cheap as the others for the most part. When I add in the gas and time involved in a half hour drive, then he is definitely cheaper/easier.

Our Ace Hardware, our local grocery, and our dimes stores and Family Dollars are also as cheap as WalMart. And again I save the gas money.

Federal contract law now gives preference to businesses with HR policies in alignment with far left values. Examples:
* You have health benefits for same sex partners regardless of state marriage law
* Health benefits for sex changes
* Hiring preferences for LBGTA in addition to ethnic minorities
* HR policies to fight hidden bias by promoting people who break the stereotype in company newsletters as examples to everyone, and giving diversity and inclusion awards

The end result of this is company policies that enforce far left wing culture, punish those who express disagreement as “intolerant” and a violation of HR inclusion policies and lead to managers who get promoted for toeing the far left wing line and those who believe it reaching the top.

Yeah, but Chick-Fil-A could be kicking puppies in the back room and I'd still wait in that line. Their product is superior to McDonalds. I don't think most of the people in those long CFA lines give a rat's ass one way or the other about the company's stance on gay marriage. They just like their food.

BTW - I'm in Philadelphia, not exactly a hotbed of conservatism.

I care, and I go out of my way to eat at Chic Fil A because I know they stand with God. (and it doesn’t hurt that I also like their product and service)

When presented with a viable alternative I will always choose to dump a company or it's products that I think is aggressively promoting sodomy.

My family used to have 4 iphones and an Ipad.

Over the last year or two we have gradually shifted to Samsung and now have completely converted over and now have 4 samsung phones and four samsung tablets, and no Apple products of any kind anymore.

I refuse to do business with a company who hires sodomite CEO’s and who aggressively promotes sodomy, especially when given the opportunity to buy an equal or better product from a company that is either pro Christian or at least less embracing of the sodomites.

Not even true. Most of these giant corporations do business in Saudi Arabia, where if they catch you in the homosexual act, you get trussed up on the gallows with extra weight added to ensure that your neck snaps. We can debate on the merits of Middle Eastern pederasty but the fact is that in the Middle East, People who are homosexual get killed and no one within the middle East, or in the United States, gives one $%^$ about it.

Regarding McDonald’s even Burger King gives you real portions for the occasional junk food binge. McDonald’s seems to have gotten complacent in their business. Chick Fil-A, well, not exactly the same old deal all the time.

You know that they want the government to help them stay a Monopoly.

I like Jindl. He might make a good VP. At least he’s taking a stand, unlike Pence.

I think Pence handled the interview well with Stephanopolous. He refused to take the bait and kept explaining the intent of the law. If he had just trusted himself and stuck by his guns, this would have been fine.

Too bad. He’s been a good governor and congressman.

Are you including Family Dollar in ‘local’ stores. I wouldn’t, they are nothing but another wal-mart from what I see.
