When you get to the stories of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, consider the viewpoint that Abraham represents God the Father, Isaac as Jesus, and Abraham’s assistant finding a bride for Isaac as the Holy Spirit. And finally, consider Jacob as representing the dual warring nature of the redeemed man. Esau, of course represents the unrepentant, unredeemed man of the world.
We studied that in Bible college and it was amazing how much the story bexame engrossing to us students.
When Isaac is going up that hill I always thought he was still a kid but later I find in realty he was in his 30’s and I thought that was something interesting along with what you have posted.
