American Family Association (AFA) is alerting parents about the upcoming "Day of Silence," sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), which urges teen students to practice homosexual activism in the public school classroom on Friday, April 17.
On this day, AFA reported in an Action Alert yesterday to its 1 million friends and supporters, thousands of public high schools and an increasing number of middle schools will allow students to remain silent throughout an entire dayeven during instructional timeto promote GLSEN's socio-political goals.
"Parents must actively oppose this hijacking of the classroom for political purposes," said AFA President Tim Wildmon. "We urge friends of AFA to join the national effort to restore to public education a proper understanding of the role of government-subsidized schools by helping to de-politicize the learning environment by keeping children out of schoolif your local school allows students to remain silent during instructional timeon the Day of Silence."

Seems to me this is the one day when Christian students can witness to pro-gay students, and the latter cannot argue back or call names or anything!
Nanny nanny boo boo!
A good day to take your kids fishing.
At least the activists are choosing to shut up instead of “celebrating”.
Will their pants be up or down during this silence?
This alert from an organization devoted to family values, raises a number of interesting possibilities. In this situation, traditional theology has been undermined by a complex propaganda, directed at convincing the unthinking--or at least the not critically thinking--that it is cruel & bigoted not to equate the basic instincts of normal adolescents, with the misdirection practiced by those who seek to undermine the once normal understanding that flows from the mating quest, that plays so large a part in the awareness of the typical adolescent.
It strikes me that it would be a very good day to address why traditional marriage is so important in the lives of those, whose heads are already full of natural urges, being otherwise deliberately confused by those who embrace substitutes that interfere with, rather than sanctify, the formation of families & the procreation of the people.
Don't be fooled; "Day of Silence" is a misnomer. It is a day of propaganda, very LOUD propaganda.
Didn’t hitler say something like “I already have your kids”....
If I had school-age children I would make any sacrifice necessary to keep them out of public schools.
It’s not about rights for oppressed minorities. It’s to destroy the value systems the kids aquired from their parents.
A day of gay SILENCE? BRING ON the Marching Bands!!
Leave.the.kids.alone.!
One year on the “day of silence,” I drove past a high school just as the kids were getting out, and some had masking tape over their mouths. Hard to talk with masking tape over your mouth.
Get YOUR children out of the government indoctrination centers - NOW!
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Guys, run over and grab the first pretty girl you see and kiss her all over!
If the teachers protest claim you are a lesbian trapped in a man’s body and you cannot help but like girls!
