The Catholic Church began to exist on Pentecost, shortly after the Ascension.
The entire New Testament was written by Catholics, and it was the Catholic Church that eventually defined which writings were inspired Scripture.
The thing that you call the “catholic church” didn’t exist until the true worship of Yeshua was crushed by the Roman empire under the iron fist of Constantine.
Yeshua’s elect are not a ‘church,’ they are an invisible assembly that meets not in buildings made with hands, but wherever two or more come together in his name.
The New testament was written by the apostles that were killed by the progenitors of your catholic church.
Your ‘catholic church’ worships humans, and wealth, and things created by humans, and hates the word of God.
Your ‘catholic church’ turns Earth into hell wherever it is in control.

What is your point?
The word generation can be translated as race or culture. So Jesus could easily have been saying the Jewish race of people will not pass away until Jesus returns.
Yes but context is important. There were asking about the timing of his return.
They were also asking about the timing of when the city of Israel would fall, "not one stone left on another". And the "this generation" comment could easily have applied to that event.
