And yet again “moderate” is mis-used to describe a liberal.
Big money donors do NOT turn out voters; grassroots groups do!
after the last 2 divide and conquer primaries, I think we’re all a little more amenable to getting behind a single Conservative early on.
Who is the Christian Left getting behind?
They tossed their hopes on Obama but he lied to them about same sex marriage and other moral issues.
Who are they chattering for this time around?
Or is the Godless, hate Israel contingent of the 2012 DNC convention in charge again?
The NYet Times should put up or shut up. Talking about ‘scary Christians on the Right’ is bigoted hate speech. No more debate questions about whether God created mankind unless BOTH parties are going to be asked such questions.
It will be good to have Ted Cruz and Rand Paul in the mix early on. It is important that they put forward strong ideas for a more limited government, to explain how the country won’t fall apart, poor people and the elderly won’t be ejected from their homes, kids won’t be forced to eat ketchup for vegetables. We have not in a long time had a serious conversation about the role of government, the scope of government, and the importance of individual liberty. Having at least two people in the race I hope will advance these ideas among the general public. It may not win this time but its important to keep the conversation robust.
Moderate? He’s a radical statist.
[leaders of the nations Christian right have mounted an ambitious effort to coalesce their support behind a single social-conservative contender]
Are these the leaders who went for Mitt Romney? Give me the names of the leaders.
I take a bit of exception to the next Bush being described as a moderate.
Imo, he’s a Vichy obedient to the will of the domestic enemy.
Let’s suppose Bush wins the RNC primary.
Who wants to bet you’d never see “moderate” from the NYT again, but rather “radical, controversial, conservative Bush.”
No Bush is a conservative.
Been hosed by them enough.
Won’t get hosed again.
Mediocre Mitt scored a majority of the primary votes (10m of 19m) mostly because he had the dough.
There certainly didn’t seem to be any groundswell of support.
I’d assume he got some Mormon enthusiasm but they’re not that numerous.
As if those four names are equivalent.
No one I know other than the NYT is talking the Huckster
All the money in the world will not help you if nobody votes for you.
ted cruz
repeat after me
ted cruz
This man is the next Reagan. We need to make him president. Do not divide our vote, and we can beat Jeb. The man is TED CRUZ!!!
The NYT is trying to choose our candidate. We should not unite around a conservative just to spite them. Besides, there is more than one conservative running.
NO MORE STINKING BUSHES. I am done with the stinking Bush family. Two dudes is enough for any nation.
I'll give the reporter this: it's become obvious that the establishment candidate isn't going to do, and neither is a candidate hand-picked by the editorial board of the Times to be palatable, electable, but presenting no danger of obstructing the growth of government. That's not happening and they can't make it happen, not that it will prevent them from trying.
