There is a reason Lenin coined the phrase “useful idiots”.

The Corporatocracy learned how easy it was to capture the political class by simply buying both sides, so it does not matter who wins the election they both owe you. Wall St. crashed the economy and preceded to flex their muscle (being top contributors year after year) in the open with TARP, the result was all of their insolvent bad bets were exchanged at face value for zero percent funds to go speculate with to reinflate assets. The FED now has 4 trillion dollars of these toxic assets on their books from this activity. All of this was in exchange for a few million dollars of consistent funding. Who wouldn’t imitate this plan?

Once TARP was a done deal, no one went to jail, and no one paid attention to them going back to business as usual. This has now established socializing losses and privatizing profits because the political class is completely owned. This behavior which has now been exposed will not stop since they never suffered any consequences.

Got to love P.J. He has a rather low opinion of the “Parliament of Whores”.

Nothing will change unless the SIXTEENTH Amendment is repealed.

Since its inception, the Federal Government has become a gigantic money laundering institution.

Chickenfeed.
The MEDIA make roughly 5% of all government supported consumer spending.
Dwarfing these pitiful sums.

And they don’t have to spend a dime, they just control the public square in “the right way”.

How much did the Chinese get for their ‘donation’ to the Clinton Slush Fund?

Yes, too bad this doesn’t include all the “helping” groups, community organizers, environmental whack job organizations, etc. that are feeding at the public trough.

Raybbr, the problem is not these companies. The problem is our huge government that has the power and dough to call the shots, punishing those companies who don’t pay up and rewarding those who do. Our government is like the mafia offering protection money. I recall Hillary loudly criticizing pharmaceutical companies until they donated big sweaty wads of cash to her campaign, and she shut up. Companies that don’t have lobbyists handing out money to politicians find themselves at a disadvantage or even attacked outright by politicians. It’s a racket.

BTW, subsidies and tax credits are not the same thing. People act is if getting a tax credit is somehow getting something from the government. A tax credit just allows a company to keep more of what it produced. I’m all in favor of tax credits, but not subsidies.

Zerohedge is a strange site. It sees conspiracies everywhere and has been forecasting imminent doom for several years now, but it also has a lot of good economic analysis and reporting on the latest government outrages and lies.

If your government is busy writing regulations that could crush your business like a paper cup, you have no choice but to play the game. So you support the people who agree with you, and support the others in order to be sure they’ll take your call. The latter is what you call a shake-down.

Another thing; a tax break is not a subsidy. A higher tax on your business just raises the price to the customer. Corporations don’t really pay taxes; the customer pays it. Jack the tax on doing business and you just jacked the cost of living to everyone.

This is why we need small government. The behemoth FedGov is a corrupt organization, funneling our tax dollars and our children’s future earnings to those with inside connections. Big government democrats and big government republicans are the problem, and conservatives are the solution.
