There are plenty of threats against Putin...b those who are preparing to take his position. It's just how things are played there. Remember that it was Putin and Nemtsov up to take Yeltsin's position...the difference between the two...Putin had the connections to keep Yeltzin and his family safe through the transition and thereafter....Nemtsov had none of that....so safety is always going to win out no matter what any Russian politician might hope for. Unfortunately the our country is also playing the same game...they just are more proficient at hiding what they do. What is interesting to me is if Nemtsov was such a famous opposition to Putin...what was he doing walking across a bridge in the middle of the night without protection? I am sincerely questioning how the girlfriend comes into to play on this as they had just ad dinner together....did she lead him to walk?...currently that is what's understood...that it was her suggestion to walk. You know we will never know what really happened.
