Not sure I see the correlation between you walking while someone is hunting with a suppressor. Hunters are trained to identify their target, before they shoot. How much noise the firearm makes doesn’t seem to have any bearing on how safe you are walking.

I think the idea is that you hear the supersonic round approaching and duck just in time.

You've got that backwards. A supersonic object's sound wave will pass you after the object has passed (through) you.

In this case, one man's act of ducking is another man's falling limp onto the ground.
