Bought an RV on craigslist in a small, fairly remote area.
Called the local police and told them where I was going, and what I was doing, before I went in.
Turned out fine, the seller was legit.
The trick is knowing which are legit, and which aren’t. Some people are just too trusting.
I’ll have to remember the local police idea if I go on some expedition. Thank you.
Out police station encourages all residents to do craigslist payments, etc., in front of their offices.
Smart move. How did the cop shop receive your call?
I tend to shy away from CL unless I can orchestrate the meet - too many crazies.
I always meet at a fast food joint far enough from home that I’d know if they where following me..
What I don’t tell them is right next door to that fast food joint is the police station and the title clerk.
Buy the car and the title clerk is right there to make sure it gets transferred because your not getting the keys until the paperwork is done.
