I have my friends and family members trained not to call between 11 and 2 lest I have to miss Rush. But last week I had phone calls with customer service representatives from Comcast and Verizon plus an issue with the main sewer line which required the city's Utility Department to come and dig up part of my yard. Since I have no control over these CSRs or the city's Utilities Department, Murphy's lousy law always seems to kick in when I have to deal with these kinds of situations causing me to miss a lot of Rush's show.
When all of these extraneous activities were over, I was finally able to get back to my Rush routine. Unfortunately, what I got to hear once I was able to listen uninterrupted (Thursday, I think) was TWO HOURS of the oh-so-important "deflate-gate" news story. I don't even know what came on in the 3rd hour because I was too PO'd to listen. WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME! The next day he stayed on the subject for almost as long. I finally turned him off. Anyone who knows me IRL can tell you this is totally not me. They know that the 11 to 2 time slot is nearly sacred in my day. Up until Obama's economy devastated me, I was a Rush 24-7 member. Now I have much less discretionary cash, so I had to let my membership expire until which time I can renew it without having to worry about letting go of that $. I say all that to make the point that I LOVE RUSH!
However, and this is where the back-bencher part enters the equation... For those of you who listen to Mark Levin, you know how he always refers to the back-benchers when talk radio hosts don't hit the hard topics head on. I can only guess at who he's talking about when he says that since I never hear him mention names, but when I listened to Mark's very informative and passionate podcast from January 23, I was taken aback by the contrast between the amount of information I gleaned from his program vs. the amount I gleaned from Rush's. Could it be that Rush is a back-bencher?
I would ease off a little bit today, Rush just lost a dear friend of his and right now, a lot of the northeastern listeners are prepping for a major snow storm.
Agreed
I love Rush too, but am not a football fan, so I get quite bored when he talks about Football.
However, he DOES have a point about how the left is trying to destroy what is a uniquely American Game by claiming it’s sexist, dangerous, too violent, or not nearly as fun as soccer.
Rush is a football fan from way back, and considers the sport to be an integral part of the American Culture that he cherishes.
But I do change the channel when he gets into it, because I am just not interested.
Oh my..what happened? Who passed on?
Condolences and Sympathy to our friend Rush.
I have found by going to his web sight and reading his monologues without becoming a Rush 24/7 because I too am retired on fixed income I can get the gist of what he has been talking about. I get tired of so many commercial on AM radio and this eliminates that.
BTW...I have listened to RUSH since he was in Sacramento so its coming up on 3 decades for me.

Levin is not calling Limbaugh, Beck, or Hannity, a “Back Bencher.”
I think he means Savage, who is plain bat crap crazy, and national hosts like Mike Gallagher, Mike Medved, Huge hewitt who are all RINO apologists.
Bump to your post. Most excellent.
How can you say that when the most ridiculous of all of the “All-Star” Games, the NFL Pro Bowl, still sold out?
Kit Carson or “HR”, his chief of staff. 58, brain cancer.
Rush said H.R. (Kit Carson) passed away this morning...been sick for a while.
Probably.
I really don’t know that much about it, but I know that Rush really cares about Football...at least from how he talks on the air.

Rush Limbaugh’s Chief of Staff Dies
1-26-15
Rush opened his show Monday with the announcement that Chris “Kit” Carson died at 8AM Monday morning at his home in New Jersey. Carson was Rush’s chief of staff. He had been battling brain cancer for the past four years. Carson was 58 years old. Rush said Carson thought he beat the cancer about two years ago but the cancer cam back last fall. The last time Rush saw him was in the hospital 10 days ago. “It’s such a void because he loved this job. He loved being part of it every day. The last four years of his life, he would get up early to do his show prep and he was going to do it no matter what. It was just incredible. He loved everybody here and everybody loved him.”
I am sorry to hear that. RIP.
So sorry. He must be devastated. He has a real camaraderie with his staff, it seems to me...at least from what I hear on the air.
Not only that, but Levin’s history in the Reagan Administration makes him a walking history book/encyclopedia on how DC “works” (for want of a better term).
Condolences to Rush over the loss of Kit.
Oh my...thank you for that link. Condolences to his family, and to our friend Rush.
Levin hearts Mario Rubio. Enough said.
