I’m wondering if this type of store chain has lost a lot of market share to a chain like Dollar General. I’ve traveled through a lot of rural areas across the U.S. in the last few years, and I’m amazed at how many Dollar General stores I see in very small towns.

I too have noticed the dollar stores in really small towns. There is one in Ponce de Leon, FL and it is not much more than a place in the road. They do have schools tho.
