If you beat them, join them. That appears to be John Boehners new motto. Even though 90 percent of the Republicans in the House voted to re-elect him speaker, John Boehner has decided to appease the 25 right-wing Republicans who voted for someone else. To the delight of the far right, Boehner has taken a hard line against immigrants including Dreamers. This may hurt the GOPs chances in the 2016 election.
Rather than punish those who opposed him, Boehner has sided with them by supporting an immigration plan that would block President Barack Obama's recent limits on deportations and undo protections for immigrants brought to the United States illegally as children, the Dreamers.
Rep. Louie Gohmert, a Texas Republican who challenged Boehner for speakers was delighted. Florida Rep. Richard Nugent, another of the 25 House Republicans who voted to oust Boehner, also praised the Boehner-backed immigration plan.
At issue is a $39.7 billion spending bill to keep the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funded beyond February. When Congress passed the budget in December, they only funded the DHS until February to appease Republicans who want to punish President Obama for his executive actions on immigration reform.
Many are concerned that if Republicans continue to hold DHS money hostage, it would close down the department at a time when home-grown terrorism is on the rise. Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said that Republicans will still fight immigration even if it risks halting funding for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
I believe that the presidents executive actions with regard to immigration are outside of the Constitution and outside of his powers, and I believe that we can deal with that issue in the Department of Homeland Security bill without jeopardizing the security of our country, Boehner told reporters Friday.

You said EVERYTHING in that 4 word sentence.
Let John prove to us he as a spine at least for a little while. John did permit the govermetn shut down last year maybe hes wishywashy.
WHY ISN’T HE LEADING THIS CHARGE?
they know what the election was about. THey know that the GOPe who got in and whom they are able to roll do not represent the voters and that the voters hate them and they know that 2016 is worse for the GOPe than they are letting us know.
They know it’s over for them, and that conservatives are the future, and that they are not going to get close to near as many votes for romneybush in 16 as they did in the last gen election.
we won. this is them getting over it
MHO
That would be nice if it were true.
Maybe now that Boehner has thrown his tantrum, he now understands better where his political bread is buttered.
There is a lot of fog on Foggy Bottom. We can’t know with nothing more than a quick look.
Boehner is setting up a series of show votes to get Conservatives off his back. He knows most bills coming out of the House will still be bottled up in the Senate via Dem filibuster and if they somehow overcome that hurdle they’ll be vetoed by Obama. Nothing will be accomplished and he knows it. Idiots like my Rep Mick Mulvaney (SC)bought this garbage hook, line, and sinker and re-elected this RINO Speaker again. Take a look at Mulvaney’s Facebook page, he got flamed.
The constitution calls for impeachment.
we won. this is them getting over it
This is what I’ve been looking every and all day and every second for: proof that we’ve earthquaked them into submission.
We have two good, slow, long years to scatter the crony cockroaches. Where will they all adjourn to now?
Secondly, I'll believe Boehner will battle illegal immigration when I see it.
Very simply: stopping funding would have ended Obama’s amnesty. Going this route won’t make it through a veto override, so is purposely ineffectual and only for show.
Boehner is a deceptive snake—as are the vast majority of GOP congressmen (who voted him in again).
Even winning the presidency in 2016 will be too late to stop a lot of this amnesty stuff. The GOP endorsed it when it funded it—plain and simple. This legislative approach is a certain loser—which is why the GOPe is going along with it.
It’s not even that—this approach is certain to die either in the senate or unable to overcome a veto.
Which is why the GOPe has gone ahead with it—purely, and deceptively, for show.
Bingo!!
So basically you’re surrendering? Got it, wonderful strategy.
Wherever did you get that from?
I’m telling you it’s a fraud. The GOPe is playing you once again.
They’ll go home to their teal-painted, maple paneled dens, stocked with liquor and smokes, to face their disappointed or amoral families with whom they find no companionship for mutual lack of virtue.
Or, what we call hell
Being an American Patriot and favoring US citizens is now the definition of far right.
