A recent article posted on Free Republic said the US is looking for a light tank. The Pentagon is considering foreign made designs. This “tried and failed” verbiage is a bit overstated.

Sheridan had almost no resistance to ATGW. I saw where one had been hit in the Iron Triangle; only the steel parts
remained recognizable in the molten puddle.

Probably made of cardboard. Looks good, but not functional. Old Confederate trick.

The problem with “Light” tanks, and up-armoured IFV’s, is that they end up being used in roles they were never intended for, mainly the heavy tank.
The evidence of this is rife, from WW2 to today’s Ukraine.

Beijing is matching American military capabilities with new warships, stealth fighters and combat helicopters.
They got our missile guidance systems the last time a Dim was in the White House. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an Obama connection to these leaps of technology.

This has to be one of the most absurd posts I've read in a long time.
Moreover, the more complexand thus heavythat a tank is, the more it relies on a steady supply of fuel and parts, ideally via paved roads.
Really? what use is such a vehicle outside of "Urban" conflict? Honestly, what kind of pointless propaganda is this?

That thing is a rolling coffin.
It has a torsion suspension (unguarded) which makes it easy to stop in place. It has “sweet spots” between wheels that are soft not to mention it has it’s ridiculous design as though it could deflect anti-armor missiles; it only channels blasts. This thing (as another freeper noted) is propaganda. Being a former anti-armor Marine, this thing has me salivating; it is an easy “take” leaving me much of my “supply” left over for serious engagements.

That’s ok, we SPEND MORE MONEY than China and Russia combined, so that GUARANTEES that we’ll win WW3.

Light tank = light armor.
One good hit from an RPG and she’s probably done for.
