The local kids here are nearly all good kids-a lot of the summer peoples’ kids were mocosos, and into everything bad-they were the reason we had meth labs being operated on some properties-but most of the vaca places are empty now, thankfully-I actually hope they never come back-they only spend money here for a few weeks anyway.
I was taught at home to always keep a gun close, so I still keep a shotgun and a pistol within easy reach, but so does everyone else I know-you can’t be too careful.

True story, we were broken into one year, and the police said they would come back. Well, it happened, but I was at home. Saw them stand at the driveway, and knew they would come to the door. They did, 3 of them, rang the doorbell and then they saw me standing in the doorway of the den with my shotgun.
They said (no lie), they said "Is MO heaaa?"
Laughingly I made them repeat, they said it again. I walked up to the front door with that shotgun and told them "They better get the HeII off my front porch or their Mammies would be cleaning them up"...Again with that Stunned look on their faces. They left.
My hubby came home and saw the gun laying on the counter, I told him what happened, he said "you should have pointed that gun at them and said "Yes, meet MO".
I called the police, they came and I told them they better tell their buddies to stay away from this house. I had no more problems. h
