Talk radio host Rush Limbaugh railed against provisions in the cromnibus that relaxed campaign finance rules on Friday, saying that it was designed to "basically eliminate [the Tea Party] as a viable threat," and "how corporate America is going to defeat the Tea Party."
He explained "that campaign finance stuff...I'm going to tell you exactly what that is...the limits have practically been obliterated which means that corporate donors can just start giving left and right."
Limbaugh continued "This is how corporate America is going to defeat the Tea Party. By allowing limitless donations from that crowd under the rubric that its campaign finance and money is speech and freedom of speech and 1st Amendment, the theory is that Main Street, Tea Party people can't come close to competing with corporate money and so it is a Republican Establishment ploy that kind of dovetails nicely with Obama siccing the IRS on the Tea Party to basically eliminate them as a viable threat by relaxing a regulation in Dodd-Frank that pretty much permits corporations to spend any kind of money they want on politics."
Earlier, he declared "our Speaker of the House [got] in bed with Obama and advances the Obama agenda, takes care of it, amnesty, Obamacare, fully funded, done deal, the election must not have mattered."

A fool is someone who believes they can "takeover" the GOP.
A new Party for Conservatives, Reagan Democrats and Tea Party supporters is inevitable.
The only way the GOPe will ever be politically destroyed is to have a new party.
Staying within the GOP is suicide. Our Republic will be destroyed before any takeover of the GOP could see the light of day.
OK, do that! You`ll have my support, but PLEASE, don`t jump onto that sorry ‘We can take them over’ train. That`s the REAL fool`s errand!
Rush seems to be slowly coming around to the Wacko Left’s point of view that the problem is Citizens United and the ability to make unlimited political contributions. Which is quite remarkable actually.
Bravo! Well stated.
We can flank the evil GOPe and the evil RATs with a new party.
It will draw 10s of millions from both parties.
The reality is that a new party is inevitable. I predict within a year a big movement will arise to a new vigorous party arise to destroy these evil Statists that infest our government.
Ever see the movie Animal House? The pledging scene, where the a--hole frat house has the pledges bend over and get swatted on the @ss, then they have to say' Thank you sir, may I have another!'? Well that`s the sycophant pledge to their republiCrat plantation masters!
That may be so but they did elect John Kasich, twice. Let's hope they get this right too and start a grassroots effort to get rid of Boehner for stabbing us all in the back, not just Ohioans. Especially with this amnesty sham being shoved down our throats that not very many Americans want. Boehner needs to go, period!

Trying to take over an entrenched progressive party is a fool`s errand! Now that should be required reading.

The GOP is not perfect. But it the home of Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Jeff Sessions, Trey Gowdy, Sarah Palin and many other strong conservatives. And don’t forget that every single member of the House and Senate that voted when Obamacare came up for a vote registered a NO. Not a single GOP Yes vote.
Perfect? No.
Progressive? You must be kidding.
A fool is someone who believes they can “takeover” the GOP.

Dream on about your Third Party. But a dream is all it will ever be.
I agree with all your comments on various posts -- brilliant.
I firmly believe a new party is inevitable.
We are HATED by the GOPe. They wield enormous power.
Working from within a new party they will be less effective is marginalizing us.
In the beginning, people in England laughed and scoffed at UKIP. The said it would never succeed. Look at the UKIP now.
The GOPe needs to be destroyed politically -- the best way is via a new party.
Scene from Animal House, the pledges pledging the Omega Theta Pi (@sshole) frat house: this to your precious party leadership after getting screwed yet again, 'Thank you sir, may I have another!'.
Yea, I remember under Bush43 when we had Congress and the Presidency.
Boy, we truly had a strong effort to limit the size of government -- NOT. As Levin states often, except for Obama, Bush 43 was the most profligate spender.
The current GOP is much, much closer to progressives than it is to Reagan.
You continue to lick the boots of the GOPe.
A new party will happen well before any takeover of the GOP by Conservatives. Keep dreaming.
Well, I think you are wrong and the 3rd part is the only answer. Haven’t you realized yet, that it is IMPOSSIBLE to change the GOP? Look at what happened in Mississippi. Look at what just happened. The GOP has gone the way of the Whigs, and the sooner we realize it, the better. Let the GOPe have all the money in the world and no base.
Hello there, SJB!
Great to see you. Thanks for the BTTT.
Looks like we have our work laid out for us.
“What trends are you seeing?”
The tea party keeps gaining seats in the House. If that trend continues, RINOs cannot hold on the house leadership much longer, and then they cannot dictate any legislative agenda or collude with the left on these types of budget shenanigans.
“I feel very comfortable in the prediction (and equally uncomfortable in the reality) that the establishment Republicans will have firm control over all leadership positions for at least the next 5 years.”
Maybe, but 5 years is a very short time, politically speaking.
” Looks like we have our work laid out for us.”
Oh, BROTHER!!
A new party will happen well before any takeover of the GOP by Conservatives. Keep dreaming.

Look, I’m not trying to start a fight. I’m just trying to be realistic. Right now I see zero signs of the emergence of a third party in this country. The closest thing we have right now are the Libertarians. Bless their hearts but their progress is pretty much zippo.
Do you see something I’m missing?
“What happened in the House and will happen in the Senate shows that conservatives will never be able to take control of the GOPe from within. “
You obviously have not heard of Sen. Cruz.
