Learn you car’s vulnerabilities. Front engine cars do not survive well when hitting a 200 pound mass at any speed. There is noting infront of the engine but cheap plastic. This includes light trucks.
Likewise, they do not do well with bodies under the wheels. Hit stationary objects slowly or air bags will deploy.

If you travel in a straight line you are more likely to be struck by bricks or bullets. But, if you crash into a pole you are certain to be harmed.
Try driving in reverse in a large parking lot to practice. Show your passengers how to deploy the bear spray out the window.

I was at a demolition derby once in Carlsbad NM back in 1961. The first thing I noticed was the drivers try to use the rear and trunk area for smashing and protect the front end and radiator.
I have seen a few responses about bear spray. Is that like pepper spray?
