I was close to beginning this article by saying only in New York. Sadly, thats not true. There are a number of states today with some truly horrible gun laws and attitudes toward Second Amendment rights. But the Empire State is still right up near the top of that list and this story wont do much to improve our reputation.
Buffalo, New York police are now visiting the homes of those recently departed in search of firearms as part of a new plan to help keep tabs on local guns.
The move, put into effect by Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda, is described as an effort to stop firearms, specifically handguns, from winding up back in circulation and off the books.
We recently started a program where were cross referencing all the pistol permit holders with the death records, and were sending people out to collect the guns whenever possible so that they dont end up in the wrong hands,

The North and the South are separating from each other at a very brisk pace. I can’t even imagine that stuff happening down here.
I was born in Buffalo. So glad I don’t live there (or New York State) any more.
Amendment IV US Constitution: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
“nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”
Something people should know. If you have a family member who dies suddenly, from any reason, you may have a police visit, and they may search your loved one’s room.
My husband died at age 50 (he took an accidental overdose of his heart medication) and the police showed up one hour after death and searched his room and boxed up all his medications.
Now we are law abiding citizens so there was nothing for them to abuse us over, and we had no dog for them to shoot, but this is something everyone should be aware of. If your loved one dies suddenly, don’t be surprised - there MAY BE a KNOCK on the door, and it MAY BE a BUNCH of DEPUTIES who want to go into your BEDROOM AND SEARCH IT.
It's right there between "Separation of Church and State" and "Right to Privacy" and just below the "Right to never be Offended".
I’d trust a street thug before a cop. At least thugs know that a slip up will get them behind bars but not so with cops.
How about the voter rolls? OOOHH, that would be RAYCISSS!
Oh, thanks...
NOW I see it!

It is stuff like this that make future revolts possible.
Sounds like he’s saying that when he dies, his brother loses his guns.
Seen and stolen from someone else on FR... Bullet extraction systems for sale: Some are revolving bullet extractors. Some are bolt action bullet extractors. Some are semi auto bullet extractors. Each has the ability to remove the bullet and deliver it to the person requesting the bullet and it destroys the powder and primer at the same time, thus rendering the individual ammo round useless until the time it is made ready to deliver another bullet to the person requesting it.
Find the guy who gave the order to confiscate, don't take it out on his flunkies.

“Trophies to Be Made Legal in Program Under National Firearms Act
Machineguns and machine pistols, war trophies of foreign make, must be registered and deactivated to bring their possessons within the law.
For this purpose Treasury Department operatives will establish offices at police headquarters this morning and will maintain a 12-hour schedule for the next three days, from 9:00 a. m to 9:00 p. m.
Veterans possessing any firearm of foreign make can qualify themselves to keep their souvenirs lawfully by bringing them to police headquarters on any of the days today through Thursday.
After registrations, deactivation of the weapons makes them unserviceable but in no way mars the appearance of the guns as souvenirs. All guns are duly returned to their owners. Registration of guns is a nationwide program. Investigations made in recent months under the National Firearms Act have a bearing on the risk and problem of exceptionally dangerous war trophy weapons, brought or shipped to this country by veterans,
falling into unauthorized hands by theft or unrecorded transfer and being put to unlawful uses never intended or contemplated by the veteran.
Already there have been committed a large number of major crimes in various sections of the country, where foreign automatic weapons, introduced as war trophies or souvenirs were used.
The drive of the Treasury Department is aimed at preventing these weapons and firearms from falling into the hands of gangsters, racketeers, bank robbers and other types of criminals.”
“The Alcohol Tax Unit, Bureau of Internal Revenue, is charged with the enforcement of the National Firearms Act, which provides a penalty not to exceed $2,000 or imprisonment not to exceed five years, or both, in the event a person is convicted of violating any provisions of the Act. Veterans, register your foreign weapons today! Nov 19 1946 “Plattsburgh Press Republican”
Condolences for your loss. But one hour? How'd they get a warrant that quickly?
Judges are issuing warrants for this?
