Tea Party Support May Put GOP over the Top in 'The Hold Your Nose Election of 2014'

From Kansas to Kentucky, North Carolina to Alaska, Tea Party supporters who saw their endorsed candidates lose to establishment Republicans in U.S. Senate primaries are holding their noses as they prepare to put endangered Republican candidates over the top with their votes in closely fought U.S. Senate races.

Control of the U.S. Senate hangs in the balance.

Republicans must pick up 6 seats to obtain a 51 seat majority. On Friday, Real Clear Politics estimated that if the election were held today, Republicans would hold 47 seats, Democrats 45, with 8 seats up for grabs on Tuesday tossups that either party could take on election night.

Several of these tossup states went through bitter Republican primaries in which the establishment candidate defeated the Tea Party-endorsed candidate. While support for the establishment victors by the vanquished Tea Party primary opponents is a mixed bag, recent endorsements by some former intra-party foes, combined with pragmatic decision making in the minds of Tea Party voters around the country, may bring enough reluctant voters to the polls for Republican candidates to ease the party into a Senate majority.

In Kansas on Thursday, Tea Party-backed Dr. Milton Wolf endorsed incumbent Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS), albeit reluctantly, in his tight race with Democrat-backed "Independent" candidate Greg Orman. Wolf's endorsement came one day after the Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund, which had backed Wolf in the primary, endorsed Roberts.

So sorry to disagree with many of the Freeper posters on this sight. No one is mor conservative then I am. I go all the way back to supporting Barry Goldwater from 1958 on. To me....this coming elecion next Tuesday is one the most important elections in USA history!!! We must slaughter the entire Democrat Party, politcally. It is as simple as that.

And......that means one thing.....turnout, turnout, turnout!!! I have already voted....ya all should exactly the same...and vote against every single Democrat running for office this year!!! A stay at home, non-vote is vote for POTUS Barack Hussein Obama!!!

TheyI don’t like me. They don’t like you. They hate Sarah and they hate Cruz. We are an embarrassment to them.

Beautifully stated. This will be included in the next letter to my RINO Congressman.

Thank you

It does apply. A ruling class is in opposition to American values.Unless they are eliminated, America cannot stand.

Yes you are correct.

The GOP should be routing the dems by double digits high teens to twenties in most races, especially the incumbents. Instead, there are razor thin margins to single digits that are explainable by the lack of appeal to the base and independents.

Then realize that GOP moderate candidates are mostly similar to their democrat opponents and the result is voters including independents don’t have much to vote for.

And note that independents made up 24% of the electorate in 2012 and today .... 42%. Yes it’s true, there’s an enormous shift towards the independents that has received little media news because it is difficult for the news media to focus on a group that has no figurehead or discernable philosophy.

Fools if they do. The Democrats are the lessor evil compared to the RINO Traitors.

The Establishment all along intended to put conservatives into this box: "vote for our guy or vote for the democrat! Take your pick!"

We made our voices heard. They had to spend significant time and money to turn back our candidates.

If the GOPe didn't hear us, our issues will be heard again next election, louder and more determined.

Sir: you are certainly allowed your own opinion....I just don’t agree with it!!! However....in return....I am allowed to my own way of thinking also!!! I want POTUS Obama...traitor that he is to be politically destroyed right now. He let that young, hero, Marine, Sgt. Andrew Tahmooresi lanquish in a Mexican prison for eight months and never lifted a finger to help him!!! Thank God for Greta, Montel, his mom and a bevy of Republican House & Senate members that never let up until he was released yesterday, praise...the Lord!!!

Now...friend, if the Democrats hold the Senate next Tuesday....we don’t wanna hear no complaints from you, cause you did not vote, and therefore have no say!!!

We’ll stop Jeb just like we stopped Romney. The elites cheated in the early primaries to give Romney momentum and as we saw in Mississippi they’ll do anything to get their guy elected.

I hope the TP sinks Cochran.

Ditching Mitch would be good too, but not so likely now
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Mitch is NOT out of the woods. 87% of Tea Party support him; 5% said “Hell no.” Where is the other 8% of the Tea Partiers? Prolly said they were “undecided”. That 8% will still be undecided on Election Day and not be enthused enough to vote for Mitch. Now, the 5% who said “Hell no” and another 8% who are undecided, that 13% of Tea Partiers prolly make up 4% of the total electorate in KY. Now, throw in another 1% of the 87% who are too demoralized by Mitch’s threats to “crush” them that they don’t show up; you’re looking at a loss of 5% of your base you’ve always counted on before. Anytime 5% of the Electorate, that you’ve always counted on, don’t show up for you on Election Day, that could cause you to lose a close election. Just sayin’

Has anyone noticed that in talking about the polls in all the states regarding the senate races and karl rove interviews and in any of the media, has anyone had anything to say about the Mississippi Senate race?

They wrote that article and failed to mention Mississippi once. I can’t help but think that particular oversight was deliberate.

Its OK to vote for some Republicans, I will vote for one this Tuesday, but not for all of them. I will write-in conservative names for the other three offices.

I hope Roberts wins in Kansas, I would vote for Walker in Wisconsin and vote GOP in a few other situations.......
