The Obama administration has been pushing the governors of New York and New Jersey to reverse their decision ordering all medical workers returning from West Africa who had contact with Ebola patients to be quarantined, an administration official said.
But on Sunday both governors, Andrew M. Cuomo of New York and Chris Christie of New Jersey, stood by their decision saying that the federal guidelines did not go far enough.
At the same time, the first person to be forced into isolation under the new protocols, Kaci Hickox, a nurse returning from Sierra Leone, planned to mount a legal challenge to the quarantine order. Despite having no symptoms, she has been kept under quarantine at a hospital in New Jersey. On Sunday, she spoke to CNN about the way she has been treated, describing it as “inhumane.”

Anyone in Illinois who had direct contact with a person infected with the Ebola virus while in three African countries will be required to undergo a mandatory 21-day quarantine, according to an order signed by Gov. Pat Quinn.
The order, which was signed Friday, affects “high-risk” individuals who have come in contact with patients in Liberia, Guinea or Sierra Leone, the three nations hardest hit by the disease.
The mandatory order also includes medical personnel who have treated people infected with the Ebola virus, officials said.”
I do not have a problem with the quarantine being in their own homes, sign on the door, etc. If they are asymptomatic.
I wouldn’t put asymptomatic people into hospitals.

There are election consequences for both Christie and Cuomo, if they don’t enforce this quarantine. Obama has nothing to lose, since he doesn’t have any election to worry about in his future, so he has no problem showing the world how little he really cares about the safety of the American people.

The CDC opposes any and all quarantines because Obama told them to, and the nurse is simply a CDC/Obama mouthpiece.
