Oh, the cockles of many establishment Republican hearts were warmed this week by CNBCs report that ex-Florida Gov. Jeb Bush looks very much like hes running for president. One could almost hear the purring of those anticipating their next Plum Book job.
But stories about Jeb Bush give my insides a very different feeling: One of sinking. One of disappointment.
Its not that I think this Bush would make a bad president; I actually think hed make a very good one.
Its just that, come on, this is America. And when one family or a handful of families appears over and over at the top of the government, things start looking and feeling a lot more like an aristocracy than a representative republic.

NO.
“I also think Jeb Bush would probably be a good president - better than his brother.”
I don’t, he is as liberal as his old man. GW was the pick of the litter, the best that family had to offer.
Now... there is only ONE person in the entire country that could lose to Hillary.. Jeb Bush! because he like Romney nullifies our greatest attack against Hillary! (that electing her is looking towards the past + dynastic issues)
Yup. That really worked out in 2012.
Bush would be just another RINO presiding over the decline of America.
How in the world would he be a good president? He advocates for the ruin of the country via amnesty.
Why doesn’t the GOP promote good policy, rather than saying we are better (just slightly) than the Democrats? The only policy they promote is amnesty, over and over again, year after year. I’m not voting for Mr. “Act of Love.” NEVER!
As others have said, Jeb is Lucy holding the football, telling us to go ahead and kick it again.
I voted twice for Jeb as my govenor and he did a fair job but like his brother Jeb is NOT a conservative.
******************************
Me too ,, if Jeb runs I will attend his rallies to heckle him and carry rude signs... I will attempt to be interviewed by the news media and I will continue attending his rallies until he drops out.
He would be slaughtered in the General and just ... no no and no again.
So, what does it appear that the Republican Party has learned from 2012?
Bush will lose to the Democrat; a bigger flop than even Romney. I’ll vote third party as I did in 2008.
Inane headline. No mention of
Dynasty?
His brother had a good personality for the makings of a good president not the character though. His propensity to favor some undetermined ( to the general public) foreign entity over the US. BO lite
And Jeb will do the same as would Hillary.
These entities pay big and I guess with oil money based on our addiction to jumping into their squabbles Which BTW started of late with GHWBush and, after much protest of no blood for oil from mostly the left, their boy, Slick, continued the practice by expanding our dependence on Mideast oil by like 40% or some such never discussed fact
And he appeased them until gore was supposed to continue but gore being too inept had to snippily pass it to W and shortly after that, 911 happened, which isn’t attributed to Bush, it can’t be, but it is not attributed to Slick by most, but it was Slick’s. And he set into the culture our never blame the dem
And all of this extra Constitutional governing goes not only unnoticed by the distracted, or LIV, but acceptable to most
But it is unacceptable.
And Jeb works for exactly whom?
Why does he want the job, you know, basic interview questions.
He acts, like all of them, like someone else wants him in there. Stop it
Ted Cruz can’t be president, why? Because he was born in Canada? To an American mother?
He’s going to have loyalty to canada?
We care about this in a time when we are importing foreign nationals with a terrible virus from Africa? Out of our presidents loyalty to tge constiyution? His main job?
And the bushes do what to show loyalty to the constitution. ?
W and his father squeaked by. Both had an awful time with the second term election
Republicans at not good at secretly working for someone else while in office.
Jeb would hand it to Hillary. Heck, she runs to his right already
Can’t we leave that to the democrats and run an American?
And do check out prescott’s history in office
Cronyn is horrible. He and Kay Bailey would be making a complete mess of things now but Cruz is there
If corny is ever on Cruz’s side it’s after much arm twisting or embarrassment
He is horrible
I secretly hope his comrade loses the Kentucky race leaving him and people like Cronyn more powerless
Concession speech to Hillary? Yes. And during the first debate.
At least Romney, the other big money bully/weenie had the spirit to wait til the second and third debates
Or 1986, 92, ‘ 96, 2000, ‘04, ‘08?
Or from Reagan, himself?
And it will be delivered in Espanol.
Oh, yeah, in Spanish.
I saw him on a commercial for (FL Governor) Rick Scott the other day. He looks awful. IMO, if he was running, he wouldn’t look like he just ate Chris Christie.
Starting? Starting to look third world? WHOA - that’s one understatement.
