When Alan Henning, a 47-year-old taxi driver from Eccles in Salford, was on his way to Syria in an aid convoy late last year, he said it was important to make sure aid was going to "the right people".
But his charitable actions took him into the hands of Islamic State (IS), who took him hostage within minutes of him arriving in the country in December 2013.

Islamic State (IS), who took him hostage within minutes of him arriving in the country ...
His colleagues were people he had got to know through his work as a taxi driver, ...
he told BBC News he was not a Muslim himself,
Sounds like one of his colleagues set him up.
He probably was sold for money!
Isn’t it time to get angry?
Isn’t it time to really declare war?
And this time unabashedly framed in retaliatory and punitive terms?
How about “we’re coming to kill you all.”
“We will not apologize for “collateral damage”.
“We will not seek permission from any other entity or nation. We’re coming to kill you all.”
“Oppose us at your peril”.
One can dream.
When Putin invaded Georgia, Bush made it clear that he considered Putin’s moves to be provocative and would consider moving military assets to reflect this, Putin backed down.
I think a peace treaty would have probably given Putin some reason to limit what he was doing because explicitly breaking it might have risked going to war.
The only aid given to any Muslim by any rational, non-Muslim person must be aid in meeting their “72 Virgins”.
I like helping people, but I don’t play in a war zone. “Play stupid games, collect stupid prizes.”
That’s always been Satan’s game: People for money.
Yep. Pretend he went to Afica and got Ebola. No sympathy there.
What are you talking about? Russia won that. Bush did with South Ossetia what Obama did with Crimea: Nothing.

"Result: Russian, South Ossetian, and Abkhaz military victory
Expulsion of ethnic Georgians from South Ossetia and the Kodori Gorge
Recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia by Russia
Russian military bases established in Abkhazia and South Ossetia"
bleeding heart lib instinct took over COMMON SENSE, went anyway to hot zone full of barbaric muzzies, see what that gets you, bleeding heart lib mentality will never get you AHEAD of the game

One thing I’ve learned over my almost 70 years, is that if you want to live a long life, do not do stupid things that put you in harm’s way. It’s difficult as it is to make it through life without experiencing unexpected downturns in the road. But to deliberately put yourself at risk is not an ingredient for longevity. Your chances of surviving stupid acts are slim to none. Some people just don’t have any sense.
Lesson No. 1:
Never help people who wish to kill you.
Lesson No. 2:
Help and try to affect the needy in your own country first.
Lesson No. 3:
If you are going to be stupid enough to help these savages always carry a firearm.
We should not be over there protecting Muslims from other Muslims.
It is a shame about this man but his story is not what this is about. Some Muslims want to use us to kill other Muslims. They want to draw us into a civil religious war for their own ends.
Just say no.
If and when they get tired of killing each other and come after us en masse (not one unfortunate beheading at a time), then we should kill the aggressors.
Fergot who’s running the show over there, did we???
Musta thunk it all has NOTHING TO DO WITH ISLAM???
I think we have to pay a bit more attention when it comes to who we believe. (So as not to lose one’s head.)
...took him hostage within minutes of him arriving in the country ...

Should be “his arriving”.
I want to be on your team.
Can you just imagine what Reagan’s response would have been?
We should not be over there protecting Muslims from other Muslims.
