A knife-wielding intruder allowed to burst through the White House's front door. Bullets that struck the window of Barack Obama's private residence but went unnoticed for days. A presidential bodyguard so drunk he passed out in hallway of a hotel.
These are just some of the recent incidents that have shaken confidence in the Secret Service, the elite agency assigned to protect Mr Obama, his family and the White House.
On Tuesday, Julia Pierson, the Secret Service's director, will face a grilling from members of Congress and a battle to convince them that her agents are up to the task of protecting the world's most powerful man.

Yeah, but turning Obama into a martyr will be the worst possible thing that could happen.
Like death turned a mediocre President like JFK into an icon, imagine what would happen in Obama suffered the same fate?
I want a nice, long, QUIET retirement for him.

I could care less about Bath-House Barry and whether or not he lives or dies. The question is; will the USA survive Barry?

The only “best protection” in the world is total anonymity. Anything else is playing catch-up.

Some believe that JFK's assassination was to blame on the dereliction of the Secret Service.
And some believe that a new Secret Service agent actually killed President Kennedy when, after the shooting started, he stood up with an automatic weapon, fell back when the driver of the convertible he was in, suddenly sped up to follow the presidential limousine to Parkland Hospital. The theory holds that the new agent is the one who actually fired the head shot accidentally.
What fits in all of that is that the Secret Service did all it could to confiscate as much of the evidence as it could, and that the Secret Service had agents stand in the Bethesda autopsy room, putting as much pressure as they could for the doctor performing the autopsy to hurry.
Not a bad theory.

The last thing we need is another marxist saint.
I agree.
But America’s enemies, foreign and domestic, would welcome a Marxist martyr.

Hussian’s life is just about as safe as Bush’s was, I remember some terrific blunders on his watch.

Probably the best protected person in the world.
It does sound like the quality has gone down a bit.
I hope that’s crossing Obola’s mind and he is nervous.

Whether you believe the president-and thus his administration-is totally incompetent or heading things right in the direction he/they want, why should this agency be any different than the rest, apparently totally worthless?

He is certainly not making matters good with how badly they all seem to treat the Secret Service.... After the immaculation there were several published stories about an SS purge. Only those pledging fielty to the Mombasa Moonbeam were retained. So they said.

Protecting the president requires a very personal commitment. When the president is imperious, self absorbed, disdainful of staff, and unworthy of respect it is impossible to be willing to risk personal safety to protect such an odious leader.

Better question: Is the Secret Service all right in 0bama’s hands, especially given that he has private (NOI or NBPP) security?
