There are about 18,000 deaths each year due to excessive alcohol use. There are no deaths, I repeat, no deaths due to excessive marijuana use.
From the CDC...
"Drinking too much can harm your health. Excessive alcohol use led to approximately 88,000 deaths ... in the United States from 2006 2010"

It's also difficult to compare it to alcohol as alcohol is far more widely used. If marijuana became as widely abused as alcohol, we would likely see an increased incidence of health problems associated with that abuse be they direct as in cancer or indirectly, as in motor vehicle accidents.
Regardless of any of that, however you look at it, it is all drug addiction and can not be considered a healthy behavior in terms of biological health or social health.
And, again, the last thing our welfare society needs is more irresponsibility, more indolence, and more mental impairment. This is the kind of thing that destroys nations and, as I am a part of this nation and have an interest in not seeing it destroyed, I am not going to condone drug addiction. ever. for any reason.
