I discovered that whiskey has quite good medicinal properties. I had a dry socket once. I had a wisdom tooth come in on a 45 degree angle and impact the molar in front of it. The dentist had to cut out the molar and then dig the wisdom tooth out of the jawbone and pack it all. The clot dissolved and it was a Friday night - he couldn't see me until Monday morning. I wanted to kill myself. Then Maker's Mark pulled me back from the abyss. Great topical if you swish it around the affected area, too, but it'll burn like a sonofabitch for the first 20 seconds or so. It also enhances the effects of hydrocodone nicely, if you can take a little PTO time from work while you wait.

But that was then. I'm 51 and wear dentures now. There is something to be said for them.

Got a question for you..on dentures..

I have a horrible gag reflex...I’m 65 and have been avoiding dentures for over a decade now..

Did you have any problems with getting used to having a foreign object in your mouth?
