Well, she isn’t employed for her intelligence or good sense.
It appears that the real issue was about having sex in public.
Yes she does kind of look like a hooker in the photo taken at the time of the arrest. (A real hooker, not the Hollywood version)
I was initially sympathetic to her, but then the real story came out. I have read that she was having sex with her boyfriend in full view with the passenger seat open. The employees at the Director’s Guild offices saw this happening, and called the police.
She and her boyfriend should have been arrested for indecent exposure, but she pulled the race card.
Still, if a cop approaches you and asks for ID, and you aren’t committing a crime, and have a lawful right to be where you are, can you refuse to identify yourself?
In most countries the answer is no. If a cop asks for ID, its not even a question, you had better have it on you and produce it. But in the US, can you refuse to identify yourself? Can you be detained if you are not driving and you aren’t carrying ID?
I’m a male WASP and I probably would have taken a ‘ride-downtown’ if I were asked and refused to show my ID.
How dramatic. She should get an Oscar for the whole chest clutching act.
I hope we don’t get to the point as a society where police are telling victims, reporting parties or witnesses, “Sorry folks, can’t do anything, they pulled the race card.”
Unlike some other states, California does NOT have a law requiring people to show ID to the police upon request (except for drivers stopped for a traffic offense who have to show their driver’s license and vehicle registration). So she was within her rights to tell the cop to buzz off, and he did not have probable cause to arrest her.
Something’s very fishy about this story.. Almost as if it was staged, and even sanctioned by higher ups trying to rally the black base ahead of November. I guess the Ferguson candle is fading.

Actually, they were not messing around, they were getting right down to business and having very steamy, very public sex in the passenger seat of their car with the door open.
The cops were responding to multiple complaints from bystanders who were forced to watch the spectacle and were appalled.
The fact that people mistook Miss ‘Django Unchained’ for a street hooker is understandable because she looked and acted like a street hooker.
She could have made it so much easier on herself.
Police Officer: “Miss, are you here on your own accord?”
Watts: “No, I’m here in my boyfriend’s Mercedes.”
Quite understandable that people thought she was a ho because she was having sex in semi-public like a ho would.
If you don’t want to be mistaken for a ho then don’t carry on like one. I await her lawsuit. This will be good.

It’s truly amazing to see these stories go sideways or flip upside down before it is explained what really took place.
Everyone is all a-flutter over at one site asking if we have advanced at all in white/black relations. One asks if black women will ever be good enough for white men.
Then you find out they were doing the nasty in full sight of the public.

Whatever the saying, here’s an instance where it applies, and getting the tooth-paste back in the tube will be impossible.
People who love to game the race issue will have gotten their jollies out of it, have convinced blacks and others that this was massive racism in action.

The media acts like this is the police’s fault, a 911 call was made by someone complaining about these two doing some weird hanky panky in the car..just look at the way this woman is dressed, Ive seen homeless people who dress better. Something tells me she set this up to get a TV or movie roll. She had just left CBS Studios, what kind of actress goes to a studio company dressed like a damn hobo
