Sure. Why not?
Obama's foreign policies have been SO successful so far, haven't they?

.

Not.

That would be "no" from me.

No boots on the ground. Well, except for the 1,000 or so “advisors”. Hmmmm. If I remember correctly, that’s how the whole VN debacle got started. Heard they will be non-combatants. Does that mean they’ll be unarmed? Why would you need a weapon if you’re non-combatant. Simply tell is/isis/isil you have a “get of jail free” card from the lyin’king and you should be good to go.

Its odd that they characterize this as a political issue — “Opponents say” and “conservatives claim.” This is a military issue. What do the generals and defense experts say? The political angle makes it sound like Obama has a sound plan but the GOP is just carping at it.

When the gov realizes we are at war with islam and the only rule of engagement is that we shoot and they die, then it might be worth boots on the ground, otherwise no.

A no from me also. However if the current junta is dead set to do it I would hope the troops would not have their hands tied. Just tell them the mission and leave them alone to do it as they see fit.

These guys and the media are playing along with the fantasy that Hussein actually wants to defeat ISIS and kill muslim terrorist bastards in the Middle East. Nothing could be further from the truth. These animals have forced him off the links by brutally beheading two journalists (after slaughtering entire villages of Christians without a peep out of the media) so Hussein has been forced to pretend to wage a fight (Don't call it "War" according to orders from J F'ing Kerry!) to prevent the media from totally turning on him.

Ground Troops are USELESS under the Rules of Engagement imposed by this clown.

I agree, the only way would be for politicians to tell the military to destroy Islam and then get the hell out of the way and stay away until the objective is attained. Of course, this will never happen so no more futile, half baked, politically manipulated military engagements.

No...we can’t be sending US troops to Syria when we need them in Africa to defend us against Ebola.

We have been occupying Germany and Japan since 1945.

Does the post war experience of Korea and Germany reflect in any way the post war reality of Iraq?

We will spend in the next 10 years what we spent in over half a century in Korea/Germany.

This is madness that someone else can pay for
