New Zealand haka mesmerises USA’s NBA stars at Basketball World Cup

'THE look on their faces was priceless.

America’s NBA superstars paused from their warm-ups to stand and face their New Zealand opponents as they performed the haka at the Basketball World Cup overnight.

And judging by their reactions, the USA team had never seen anything like it.

Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose was stunned. Former NBA MVP Derrick Rose appeared dazed.

James Harden, the Houston Rockets star who recently ridiculously claimed he’s the best player in the game, looked lost.

And Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth “The Manimal” Faried’s little “What on Earth is going on?” glance from left to right said it all, without saying anything at all.

Unfortunately for the Tall Blacks, the haka did little to halt the Americans’ power on the court, as the US outmuscled its overmatched opponent 98-71.'

Haka: traditional ancestral war cry, dance or challenge from the Māori people of New Zealand. The haka is IN, the Tebow is OUT. Go figure.

I LOVE it when American minorities finally GET that they are NOT the only culturally unique group on earth!

Yeah, I suggest you go tell a New Zealander that.

Warning, the Kiwis, white and Maori, are as tough as nails. I’ll send some flowers to your hospital bed.

I beg to differ, this has cultrual significance whereas rap has none.

Why would a team want to make an exhibition of themselves?

Its no exhibition.

NZ is a minor basketball nation, the US is primo. NZ for example would murder the US at rugby, where the haka is most famous.

The result dosent matter, its a proud part of their culture.

We Scots still play the bagpipes at soccer and rugby matches, even if we are getting beaten. (actually our teams in both sports are pretty good at the moment).
