Why would the Governor of a state need to notify the King about calling up the state guard?

This is all well and good but the real problem is not the border but the interior. If you really want to stop illegal immigration then strictly enforce the laws against employment, housing and social services for illegals. With no reasons to stay we would not have to guard the border.

Something is better than nothing. People might also ask, If the governor of Texas can do it, why can’t the preezy?

What will the National Guard be doing on the border?
Unless they have instructions and authority to turn back, apprehend or use force, it will be another toothless gesture.

There can be no national security without border security, and Texans have paid too high a price for the federal governments failure to secure our border, Gov. Perry said. The action I am ordering today will tackle this crisis head-on by multiplying our efforts to combat the cartel activity, human traffickers and individual criminals who threaten the safety of people across Texas and America.
In other words, they're going to help make safer the passage of the thousands of people who are streaming into the country. Nothing about helping to stop the invasion.

OdumBO will send Holder the Slick to the border with a writ signed by a wise latina to bar the Texas National Guard from obeying the Governor of Texas.

Woe is me! Woe! Woe is me!
I wanted Governor Perry to wear a red tie today, but he didn’t do exactly what I wanted.

I wanted Governor Perry to have a tuna salad sandwich for lunch, but he didn’t do exactly what I wanted.
Woe is me! Woe! Woe is me!
The guy could turn into Superman and toss the illegals a mile, and there would still be people on Free Republic complaining that it wasn’t two miles because that’s the distance they want.

obozo and holder’s panties are going to really be in a bunch over this. They are waiting for official word from Gov Perry. If Gov. Perry does call and is truthful, Obozo will respond to Gov. Perry by asking; you want me to do what to myself??

It looks as if the taxpayers of Texas will be stuck with the bill since the Texas guard belongs to Texas unless it is called to federal service.
Another Obama bill that others will have to pay.
I hope Perry sues Obama for failing to protect and to defend Texas from foreign invaders.
